I like this set of drawings. This is probably best that could be managed of the miscellaneous third day activities in a truncated manga format, and there's even some new ones. It's a shame that the pinwheel scene isn't here, but to be fair we had seen the memory attached to it before. Pretty much exactly as it was in Omori asides from Sunny reacting to things. Also the added are you eating healthy and microwave line. I note that the "When you move away" line was moved from before entering the backyard to this scene. Not that drastic a change which was presumably done for pacing reasons. Two Aubrey scenes that are close together being partially merged into one.Also I note that the line itself was changed. From>"Hey, SUNNY... When you move away... Ah, this scene. I think it turned out alright, but worse than the game's version.I think it really suffers from cutting down>"You know... after everyone drifted apart... I felt so alone. But now, I realize that I was the one who was pushing everyone away.">"SUNNY and BASIL became more closed off... KEL made a bunch of friends playing sports... and HERO always seemed to be busy studying.">"I was so angry at how life kept moving on. Sunny and Basil are being more closed off; they've abandoned her. Kel's making new friends; he doesn't care. Hero's shutting himself off; he's busy studying.Which is a shame to because I like Aubrey addressing Basil's situation, and it's sweet that she acknowledges he was the one to introduce her to everyone. It's a cute added bit to this scene.The follow-up scene with Hero and Kel consoling her also feels a bit clunky.The treehouse scene is also missing out on Kel's apology where he admits that after Mari died everything got so difficult and he was afraid of making things worse, which is why he avoided them for so long. That's a really important scene for Kel's character, and where he apologizes to Sunny and Aubrey. But maybe that could happen later? It could be sandwiched into the sleepover or a scene leading up to it.
I think I like this conclusion. I note that it's drastically different from Omori, or at least what Polly tells us happened.In the game, Polly says that after Basil got back he went directly to his room and she hasn't heard from him since. She didn't seem to even know his grandma died. Here, we have this whole scene where Basil outright admits to Polly that his grandma is gone and blindly begs her for help.I'm curious if this scene change will have a reason for it. It would be pretty sucky of Polly to just let him go to his room to be alone after this, especially when it was set up way earlier that Polly's worried she's not doing enough for him. And here the opportunity to do something is presenting itself, even if it's a really difficult and scary situation she's probably not emotionally prepared for. I honestly wouldn't blame her for fumbling hard. Especially since Polly doesn't seem to be taking the news well herself.I love Basil's miserable face in that one panel. That is a nice bit of a drawing. That is someone who's been dead for years finally staring to realize it. I'm looking forward to the next chapter and how the sleepover plays out.

The manga is strange and keeps getting stranger. It really feels like Aubrey is the heroine now. I mean she's even on the vol 4 bonus card, again, with Basil of all people, even though the actual protagonist and all the others only appear on a single card. I used to like her, more than other main characters at least, but all the crying and repetitive scenes are getting old. So Polly just worries endlessly while hoping Basil takes that first step. And things don't seem so different on that front in the manga.

In Breaking Bad, in the final episode, Walter White admits that everything he's been doing has been for himself all along, and not his family. Anyone who's been paying attention already knew that, but that was written not for the benefit of the audience but to progress Walt's character and finally have him take some semblance of responsibility after avoiding facing his flaws for so long.

Come to think of it, isn't it a plothole that the treehouse was left untouched? I mean they are literally moving out, that's what the game is about. But it didn't occur to the mom to check up on the treehouse for the past 5 years? There's so much stuff inside, and half of it belongs to the neighbors. It's not even the place where Mari died, so it shouldn't be that traumatic.

Only three things I can think of change between the normal and hikikomori routes before the major route divergence in Black Space, and two of those are really easy to miss.I personally don't like the sound of Headspace influencing Faraway too much. It would feel odd that doing things in a dream world affects reality, unless you're saying Sunny doing things in Headspace makes him want to do things for those same people in Faraway. The unused faraway_conditional having Headspace be influenced by the new things Sunny experiences in Faraway feels more appropriate. Sort of like how the Recycultist dungeon feels like Sunny's way of adapting Headspace to the new reality he's being accustomed do.
