If the campaign story was just agreed on to be bad, then I'd be fine with it. What bothers me is that there are lots of people confirming that they believe ch47 and ch48 are kino. I feel like it lowers the bar of what's acceptable for the bald man to put out. It genuinely feels similar how people say "movies now are better than ever" or "marvel movies are great". I just feel like there is so much dissonance between me and everyone else. I genuienly not sure if I'm being gaslit/astroturfed by SU. Like... the story is really really bad. Everything nowadays feels contrived and forced, characters don't feel real anymore, story/scenes are moved by arbitrary new asspull info, the "good" scenes don't make sense and feels like they are just nostalgia baiting or are just "cool" in a vacuum lines. I hate to sound elitist but recently it genuinely feels like the nikke audience will literally consume any slop and call it sophisticated. Foreshadowing, world building, lore, characters acting in character, nuance, story reasonably moving foward, it genuinely feels like people don't care at all. I know SU can make a good/decent story that relates to the lore in a meanful way, they've recently released PM and Key. People praising the recent chapters, SA, AG, GF, kind of makes me a bit depressed. I know nikke's best wasn't shakespherian, but it wasn't always so half assed, lazy and shallow.

One thing I liked about Ark Ranger is the small recognition to Trony for being the Ark's hero. Trony barely gets any praise but when she does, it makes the viewer feel proud. In universe, Anis feels like she gets overpraised and worshipped by the citizens of the ark. Doing the good deed in itself should be the reward, in fact, I prefer in stories that characters are punished for doing the right thing.
