i think the main issue with how the game is developed is that epic makes all the weapons and mechanics within the vacuum of "everyone is going to play along and have fun" but most players genuinely hate each other and just want to disrupt whatever fun they're havinginstead of people just using the tracer guns to shoot at people, someone figured out a way to abuse them to fly around foreverinstead of having fun collecting the sprites, people go out of their way to stop others from getting them not even because THEY want them, but just to prevent others from having themnone of the weapons and mechanics are ever tested with fortnite's actual playerbase until they release, ensuring if something is fun it'll get prompty nerfed and if something is braindead stupid and powerful it will remain braindead stupid and powerful for the entire seasonthe real issue is the playerbase, so many players are just absolute toxic fucking shithead crackhead goblins who, if they aren't cheating, might as well be with how fucking cracked they are

But then they turned the cool concept into a boring grind and made that the main gameplay hook of the season.
