The best mod for Witcher 3 by far was the "Improved Animations" mod or whatever, and not for the reason you might think. It adds animations to any potion drinking where Geralt literally takes out a bottle, pops the top and drinks and slows down while he does it (also optional oil application animations). It makes it so you can't just spam healing potion (also optional food eating) and you're actually slower and more vulnerable in combat while drinking healing items.
