Personally considering Donald and Goofy are exploring the land of the dead separately from Sora is that there are multiple visits to disney worlds, but not just like twice maybe 3 or even 4 times depending how it serves the plot. Like the land of the dead seems to be the closest to his own world Sora can get considering, on a conceptual level, Quadratum, the Underworld, and the land of the dead are, for Sora, all "worlds of the dead" making it the easiest place to communicate with him. Or at least that's how I see it working based on what we've seen so far. Especially since "voices" can't reach across the boundary if what old man Xehanort said in MoM was accurate.

well we know based on KHUX's ending he works/worked for the HQ in scala, so while that's possible it'd be weird they'd be sending him out with his fancy outfit if he was just a desk worker normally

in the untranslated, last/temp story quest in missing link from the unleaked assets he showed up still as a special agent from the HQ after the baroque society got attacked and tries to get the player to go back to the HQ with him since everyone else from the society was missing after the attack? this is from what i remember from seeing a machine translated version of the script so the details could be wrong and the title for the quest was explicitly marked as temp in the japanese file (and wasn't in the english file at all) so it might not have been finalized yet either

Occasionally I learn that I played games differently as a kid, the newest is learning that everyone loved combo plus in kh2 but I never used that shit because of the mechanic where bosses can only die to finishers. By adding an additional attack not only does it mean the boss isn't dead yet despite having 0 health, but it means they can recover and attack back before I finish the combo. So obviously I never touched the combo plus abilities.

Though still not as funny as when I played dream drop when it first came out and used balloon, hit 0 enemies, and went "wow this spell sucks" and never used any balloon magic for the rest of the game. Then when kh3 was about to come out and I saw someone mentioned balloon was broken and wondered what bullshit they were on.

I hope they keep up the trend of worlds having lots of platforming. They pretty much didn't even try after KH1 except for the very basics and it wasn't until DDD that they remembered this series used to have levels that weren't just flat and empty hallways.

KH3 Olympus is great example of how much you can do with just one world. People gripe about having no Coliseum, but it is still well structured. Thebes, Mt. Olympus, and Realm of the Gods were all distinct and not lacking in size either. Alone, any of these could've been a world in KH games before DDD.

Coco in particular ties in heavily to the themes of death. Please explain how these boring ass movies would relate to anything regarding the themes of KH4. Atlantis at least could have the fish magitek bikes for racing and stuff but star wars could also cover that with speeder bikes/space battles. Zootopia, even taking into account some of the less mundae urban environments is mostly just a mundane world.

I really would throw this up to personal interpretation, but I don't think so. The MoM seemingly forged every keyblade, but they also take the form most appropriate to their wielder. So it's a bit confusing. Personally, just based on the keyblade's design, it matches Riku's outfit in KH1 so closely I can't imagine it being made for any purpose outside of being his in the same way Earthshaker and later Ends of the Earth are Terra's blades. When I think back to KH1, and based on what we know of how keyblades of darkness are formed, I imagine that if say, Sora got Lady Luck instead of the Kingdom Key, then there would be a Lady Luck D in the same place Mickey got the KKD. That matches what DDD's glossary says about keyblades too.

I don't think Van's blade is even a real keyblade if I can be frank. It doesn't let him extract hearts that we know of otherwise Xehanort would have him gathering the princesses (why he doesn't do it himself is beyond me but I presume it's to quote 'keep up appearances', it is replaced with the X-blade after fusing with Ven and it has a gazing eye in it. I think Void Gear is a total anomaly honestly.

Yeah, someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but every keyblade but the KKD and Keyblade of Heart, and of course, the χ-blade itself, is a keyblade of light. Like some other anon said, we haven't spent much time in the realm of darkness, but in theory, there should be keyblades of darkness waiting for people to grab them since they mirror each other. I pulled a quote from the secret report for KH2, which as far as I know hasn't been superseded by in-game or out-of-game knowledge. Now, what's thrown into the mix is 0.2; the game seems to make it a point that since DI fell into the realm of darkness, that's where the KKD would reside, since that's where Riku was about to be given his keyblade before Sora stole it. We don't know, though, if worlds falling into darkness is a prerequisite for their darkness counterparts to appear, like, for example, if CO/LoD fell to darkness, would D versions of Terra and Aqua's keyblades appear, assuming they got them there? I think 0.2 is trying to say "Yes", but we don't have a ton of info to go off.

Olympus sort of had the right idea in KH3 with side quests but it could have been done a lot better and it was only in Olympus. Doing something that gives them life after the main story of the world is done would be good as well. Doesn't need to be a second visit akin to KH2 but even like a side episode could be good.

This is an idea i do really like, post game content or missions etc would be so cool, i'd love to revisit Coca at the end of the game and have additional content to do. I;m guessing Quatraum will have something like that at least with the Dandelion Dispatch stuff.

Treasure Planet is definitely possible, it was cut from DDD so it's on Nomura's radar and considering DDD came out 10 years after Treasure Planet it wouldn't have been a movie Disney wanted to shill. It also has the scale needed for a KH world now. Atlantis though, it was one of the worlds in the initial list for KH1 but with nothing else ever appearing I don't think it has a chance.

The thing is that kh4 WILL have less Disney worlds just because of how much work goes into them. They have to be more particular in their choice. They can’t afford to have filler. There’s nothing about Treasure planet or Atlantis that really fits into the theme of death or difference in perspectives that kh4, nothing that could really add a gameplay gimmick that another world that could work better coild do, like Atlantis has jet bikes and treasure planet has its space boats, both of which could be fulfilled by Star Wars which has way more evidence to actually be in the game. The time for both of these has passed. They may have once been considered but that was on the past.

I have a really garbage sounding theory that people have probably floated before. The MoM is objectively a powerful person, Possibly stronger than anything else on the face of the series. More to the point, he fears darkness and has little if no actual malice in anything he's said or done. He might have consigned a few million keyblade wielders to participate in a war of who's victory isn't even certain, but I don't think that's a bad thing he personally did necessarily. Anyways, I think when he disappeared from the age of fairy tales, he split himself into a pathetically weak heartless and encased that in the black box and carried on as a Nobody in order to live forever (since Nobodies appear to not age in the slightest). And the reason I think we see him again in 4 is because his nobody was slain in 3. That's right, I think Demyx was that nobody. Feel free to boo me but I think it makes sense.
