damn actually managed to fill a thread? only took two weeks lmao.
Is Soulash 2 good?
>>578941889No
new char. keep restarting though because of shitty spawns, like near a fungal tower and shittrying to be a bit more balanced at the start since all these mods add a ton of power ups. >>578941889yes
>>578941910>>578942059the duality of man
last second escape. goddamn golems killed this start three times before and this was the first time I could get away
whats the basics for magiclysm. i keep trying it but end up just using guns before getting very far
got a lucky cargo spawn in the woods, almost cucked by another clay golem. got lucky and found a single grenade in the few crates I checked >>578944129just gotta start as some kind of caster if you don't want to deal with rng for spellbooks. not sure how it is these days. the BN version has books super rare it seems like or maybe I've just been unlucky
>>578944129Play arcana instead
>>578942059I just use free form cause I don't want my guy having to be mentally ill and allergic to everything just to not get tired fastA fucking machine gun turret will instakill them regardless
>>578944129Unless it's been changed since I last did a mage run, the higher your mana the faster you passively regenerate it, so going all on in INT and magic feats can let you spam spells with little rest time. Couple this with a good AoE spell and you can sweep everything faster and cheaper than guns ever could.
>>578944663i mean what do you even do to even start, i find a few books and most of it seems useless so i dont use them. do i just use spells anyways even if they suck?
>>578945028If you didn't start as a mage using the mage professions or buy some spells in character creation, your only option is to drive around with binoculars and climb stuff to map out more of the world in hopes of finding wizard towers and cabins, both found outside of cities. There are also some houses in cities that have spellbooks and a fast travel teleportation anchor, but they're unlabeled and kinda rare so looking for them is a lot of effort. Some spells did just suck back when I played, but it might have been balanced by now. The spellbooks tell you the spell's damage, cost, cast time, and how much it gains per level, so use that to judge whether a spell is good. But in general, any AoE damaging spell is going to be good, so the stormshaper wizard start is always a good one since they get an AoE lightning spell.
and to clarify >>578945398 , wizard cabins are just called cabins on the overmap. You'll have to get close to see if it's actually a wizard cabin, and even then it might not have a spellbook.
>>578945497i think i know the cabins, they seem to always have a random magiclysm only monster, like some mage or some shit inside?also i do want to focus on being a rootytooty gun and shooty player, thats supplemented with magic, not really a magic focus. will NOT choosing a mage gimp my ability that much?
>>578946665If you don't find good spellbooks, yeah it'll gimp your ability because you won't have the ability at all lol. But even with 8 int and no mage traits, you'll still have enough mana to supplement your killing. I think you also get a bonus 500 mana for each school of magic you learn a spell in, so it's worth still looking for wizard buildings so you can try to learn one spell from every school which can net you thousands of mana.Sometimes I started as a mage but still built for guns/melee just so I could guarantee I'd start with a good spell and be in a wizard's building where more might have spawned. It's a cheap workaround, you won't get the stuff the other starts would give you but finding a gun store is a lot easier than finding a wizard building and spellbooks.
>>578947008i kinda want to roleplay a regular human and treat the magical elements as something that just came along with the zombies, instead of it being a "oh yeah magic was always a thing" deal.
>>578947207Ah. Then you'll just have to keep driving until you find a good spell lol. Remember that being higher up extends your overmap vision radius along with having binoculars.
>>578947672climb the trees as well
I don't remember why I liked these games. Can you tell me why?

>>578944519If you know where to look, and can survive getting to them, they aren't that rare.Scrolls are pretty common too and a lot easier to get to.
huh, okay, so if you google 4chan rlg and click into the thread that way, you cant click reply or make replies. why the fuck is that.
>>578953948I tried and seems like it appends "rlg-roguelike-general" to the URL which bugs the site out
>>578953948Google search doesn't exist anymore, what you get is an AI simulation of /rlg/.
>>578940268In DDA/TLG, is there a way to make autodriving boats ignore "crashing" into creatures? It's annoying as hell having to restart autodrive because the boat won't push some fuckass duck out of my way without manual intervention.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTjiTJm7jjg
>>578958185im pretty sure no. it would be possible to cause catastrophic damage and sink the boat, unless it gave you an entire enemy list and let you select who/what to ignore.good idea, an ignore/plow through this motherfucker list, but someones gotta actually do the legwork to implement it.
I want to build a class systemWhat would be the dividing line between a base class and a ... prestige class? Base class is just boring?
>>578959209>it would be possible to cause catastrophic damage and sink the boatOther than smashing into structures, is it actually possible to damage a boat from running into stuff? Ducks, zombies, fish, they've all just been pushed to the side of the boat as it moves with no apparent damage.
>>578960056>with no apparent damage.huh, really? i would of expected it to me like cars where even geese can tear an engine block out
>>578960491Nope. I'm plowing through flocks of birds and giant water bugs at 27+ speed in my speedboat with no problems. Boat is still in the "like new" condition I first found it in.
>>578960491okay, if that is the case, than the issue is weird fuckery where an enemy transports through a solid wall and ends up inside your boat somehow and murderizes you while you autotravel. of course, any pain pauses the autotravel and you get a chance to deal with it, but i bet thats so common with how much distance you can travel id probably just disable it.
>>578960681huh. boats are kinda sounding sorta OP
fuck now a waterworld run sounds really interesting. some sort of arbitrary time limit for being on land, constantly moving. somehow spawn/teleport to the ocean at the start. theres a bunch of scuba diving/swimming mechanics in the game that is NEVER used, i bet its unbalanced as all fuck
>>578959863Have a look at how neverwinter nights handled it.
>>578960773>than the issue is weird fuckery where an enemy transports through a solid wall and ends up inside your boat somehow and murderizes you while you autotravelPossibly, but like I said creatures seem to actively get moved to the sides as you move through. Weird shit yo.>>578960824I always wondered why nobody seemed to talk about boats. Fun fact, you can probably staple hull parts to your deathmobile base and congratulations your deathmobile is now amphibious. You don't even need a propeller or anything like that, it just fucking werks.Uh, but make sure your vehicle says it'll actually float before driving into the water or else you're going to have a bad time.
>>578961310ive heard people mention how trivial it is to make your deathmobile a deathmoboat, but i figured at that point you were already messing around with aviation and it was like an endgame sort of thing. all this yappin has me wanting to start as a kayaker with a canoe and just force myself to travel ye old blue hell
>>578961310>I always wondered why nobody seemed to talk about boatsProbably because there's mostly nothing in the water. Even when I make my deathmobile submersible I try to avoid it because autodrive doesn't like the quantity of mobs in the water and the fact they can be hidden until you're right next to them.
Seafaring roguelikes?
the one piece roguelike is real
>>578961853>canoeNice, I hope you enjoy your travels>>578961915I've always found amphibious vehicles to be super useful in skirting around all the forests and shit that can't be autodriven through. And while there isn't much in the water in terms of POIs, it's nice to be able to fuckoff from the land to somewhere relatively peaceful.

its beautiful. never found a working tank before. not sure what to do first. found a lab surrounded by ants but I have no science id yet. have a couple guns and some ammo but nothing big aside from the turrets on the tank. my goal now is to find books, get mechanics up and fully repair this bad boy and go hunting for parts to make it better. how FUN is BN with car mechanics? could I attach turboprops on this thing and make it fly?
>>578961057neverwinter nights is literally just old dnd
Rate my futuristic murderchopper. It's maybe around 90% done, I still need a couple of raids on hazardous waste sarcophagi to collect enough nanomaterial to fill out all the roof tiles with quantum panels. And of course military blacksites for more hover repulsor units.
>>578986610>could I attach turboprops on this thing and make it fly?Absolutely. You can even make it fly with just e-motors if you slap enough batteries and enhanced (preferably super) motors on it.You will need mechanics 10 chain the motors though, so hope you find the correct books.
>>578971731>your innocence is determined by an americans attention spangrim
>>578990752based as fuck. this save is blessedmanaged to find another wizard tower and was able to deal with the plastic golems easily. got a paladin's spellbook and a stormshaper one. not sure which to try.
>>578994910IIRC stormshaper has spells that grant immunity to electricity, and that's one of the biggest dangers early game. Not sure if that spellbook grants it though, but if it does, I suggest you learn it asap. Paladin gives holy blade which is a reliable source for a good melee weapon that unfortunately glows which is a danger during night time when you're doing sneaky breeky shit with NODs. The other spells are kind of eh. Haste is really strong but has an inconveniently short duration.

>>579053041Is there an easy way to find blimps? I don't think I've come across any odd shadows in my travels

I've always just gone for advanced 3D printer to make infinite carbon fibre filaments (with some assistance from plastic golems that are ubiqutuous in wizard towers) and when I'm at that point I just make a full on murderchopper. One set of gyros will suffice until I find a military helipad or an aircraft carrier, at which point I put on heavy duty military blades on the thing. Or if I get to a blacksite, I just put a repulsor on it and then I'm set.Is there any advantage to having a blimp instead?

upgraded from DDA 0.G to 0.I and I don't like it. TLG seems to have a lot of changes I agree with so I'm going to try that. What versions do you guys play?
>>579084678Not TLG that's for sure
>>579084678I normally just play experimental. I use the launcher that's similar to DDA's Catapult, called Daboob or some shit, and it makes it easy to check pull requests to see if anything in an update might blow up my stuff. I don't remember why I had to stop using Catapult, but something didn't want to play nice with TLG back when I switched over
>wanted to do a knightly medieval-lite run>pretty much became a sea pirate runIt's almost summer and I've done nothing but boat around a massive lake/ocean that touches several NPC hubs while gunning down anything in my way. >>579118561I suppose so. Are blimps as fast as choppers though? I find it incredibly boring to crawl forward so I just zoom ahead 500+ km/h on z-level 10 and look for interesting locations to loot. Then touch down, clear, and move on.
>>579125090>kind of want to make a mini tank that is easier to navigate inLook for a military blacksite. If you can clear out the turrets on the outer peremiter, and then the 4 laser turrets on the inside, and then clear out the hyper decked out cloaked feral kill team in the basement, you can find a solar tank, experimental hover-APC or even a hovertank in pristine condition.

Best place to settle down with my followers in CDDA? I have a mighty need for a castle to guard against the undead hordes and shelter my knights of the realm, but I also think it might be neat to live in a cave or something underground. Is the camp system actually worthwhile yet in DDA or TLG?
>>579171223the best fortified location imo is a prison, it has a surrounding concrete wall with multiple brick buildings inside, and a good amount of outdoor area for farming inside the walls. it also has an underground room and underground maintenance halls.
>>579171413I want to like prison bases, but desu every time I get into one I end up consolidating everything into the wardens office or whatever that big entry room is supposed to be. I know that's my fault for doing it that way, but prisons have still become kind of stale.

>>579175051You already know on your death bed which decision you'll have regretted. You'll regret not playing TLG instead
>>579173304Not technically a base invasion, but scenarios that have a pursuer can result in something big and scary doing the classic kool-aid man through a wall gag
>>579172668If you want underground the best probably is a cleared out lab.
>>579175608Labs are way too fucking big especially nowadays, even cleared its just too much area to clean up
>>579175608>>579175787It's a shame that there aren't more "lab access shafts" that link up with a subway tunnel like the one near the HUB. That shaft is way to close to the HUB for my comfort and would probably lag like hell, but being able to set up shop alongside a subway line would be pretty neato.
>>579175989there are more of those, I have seen multiple of them in the same world.
>>579176038No shit? I only ever find the ones that lead to those big ass labs with the large cross hallway and elevators
>>579176147I haven't actually explored many of the ones I have seen, so I don't know if they all go to those huge physics labs. I feel like I have seen one that did not but it was a while ago now so I'm not certain.
new rw patch, they ruined my magic missile, but...perhaps...assassinate build...?
>>579175989Wtf is a lab access shaft? You mean the railway tunnels?
>give NPCs bandages so they can bandage themselves while we're clearing hordes>the instant I take damage they break formation and rush over to heal me, eating several hits before I notice and stop holding tab>have to awkwardly reposition them while the swarm is still charging us>no option to keep them from doing this afaikDon't give your NPCs extra bandages, I guess.
>>579177626idk if they're in BN, but the shafts are little fenced off 3x3 vent shafts with ladders underground, usually leading down to labs or subway tunnels.
>"realism focus">can read newspapers that are sitting on the ground 60 tiles awayuhh
>>579176147NTA but there are shafts that lead to smaller lab variants, like 5x5 or 6x6 overmap tiles, only one actual level and without a central hallway with the carpets. I think those smaller ones have more ladders going down than the giant variants. I think the giant ones are 2 or 3 ladders down from surface level, while the smaller ones are 4 or 5. I don't think you're guaranteed subway access from small ones though, maybe it depends on if there's a subway going near them or not. Also not all access shafts lead to a lab at all, I've encountered many shafts that lead to an isolated single subway tile going nowhere. One issue with a deeper lab having subway access is that the lower subway has much meaner monsters. Like you routinely encounter high tier mi-gos in significant numbers.Another option for having a lab base with subway access is just finding a subway lab that has no surface access, and digging down into it. May sound daunting, but I think you just need a jackhammer and 4? heavy wooden beams you can loot from an empty lumbermill, along with some nails and I think short ropes and shit. You'd only need to dig 2 zlevels down, and you can just get an npc to do the work while you read or craft in your car. I think that's also the only way you can have an autodoc within your reality bubble for npc use on top of a full sized basecamp that requires 9 field tiles. You probably know this, but when hunting for labs, you should inspect every scientist zombie wallet for handwritten notes. They place nearby lab shafts and subway lab access tiles on your map, and they're not even limited to the area you found them in as long as they're still unused.
>>579184087>I think that's also the only way you can have an autodoc within your reality bubble for npc use on top of a full sized basecamp that requires 9 field tiles. You can't move autodocs in DDA?
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UbbtCnuyI9w
what's the play here
>>579186047You can grab and move the autodoc bed, but not the computer. Deconstructing either just gives you spare parts. You can't just build your own out of parts either. So if you want one, either you find one in a lab or the rare doctor's office with one if that variant is still in the game. Maybe hospitals can also have one.Though honestly, I think you might only want one for npcs. I had a character with 8 health care (basically the only realistic level you can grind to without bandaging yourself thousands of times) and a friendly nursebot, and I still couldn't match the success rates of paying Rubik for bionic installation. Some bionics are pretty rare and might take even 20-30 labs to find, so having even a 10% failure rate means you might very well lose it trying to install it, and you'd have to find another one. The only issue there is that even at max faction rep with exodii, Rubik still won't install the highest tier of bionics, so you might want to pay the hub merc bar soldier to install those instead. Not sure about his success rates compared to exodii though. I'm a dirty savescummer so I don't bother, pay exodii for all the surgeries I can and just alt+f4 and reroll if the autodoc fails to install the high tier ones.
>>579187152No hope, right?Do not engage that shitter as it can easily ohko you if you allow it to start shooting. If you have any grenades, run back a tile so it can't see you and peek-throw the grenade. Otherwise I'd just come back with a grenade later. But if you manage to kill it, enjoy your 200 HEDP grenades (like 60$ worth of barter credit for one) and (I think) a shitton of rifle ammo.
>>579187152Also if you decide to come back later, bring an acytelene torch with enough fuel for like 6-7 doors, or some other way of bypassing locked metal doors. That LIXA place is pretty small, and you can break into the loot room with some good stuff using a torch without having to fight the intended boss of the location.
Surprisingly effective.Plague is quite nice.
>cruising through the hitchhiker's guide>see a bunch of cool 40x46mm ammo>might make launchers useful outside of just blowing shit up by turning them into super shotguns>can craft the different ammo types>but can't craft the casings>casings can only be obtained by deconstructing the ammo>the ammo only can drop from a few enemies>super low drop chanceLiterally why even bother coding unobtainium? Even if you manage to get one shell, there is no way anyone is going to have any kind of meaningful supply.
my wife, Yseros!
>>579197938Pretty sure actually shooting those leaves the casing behind, so if you want to craft, you can recycle. Dunno if you can attach brass catchers to launchers but if you can, they could save you the trouble of picking them up manually. You can get like 10-15 casings from police blockades that have those turrets that shoot 40x46 sponge rounds. Police stations and such may also have sponge and tear gas types in equipment lockers. The more major military places (military base, aircraft carrier) should have a very good amount of HEDP. Barracks storage in old labs sometimes has piles of 10 HEDP. Random soldier zombies sometimes have a few on them too, and since military places have a metric ton of soldier zombies you can get a good amount there as well.Personally, I'd still prefer normal grenades to GL ones simply because you can peek throw hand grenades from around a corner, drastically lowering the chance of getting hit by shrapnel and not giving things like turrets a chance to shoot back. If you do use a GL, you need some good distance and ideally shoot prone to minimize it further.

>>579202384Labs, or one particular variant of craft shop.To make your own, you need an advanced 3D printer, which you can also find in a lab. Especially the small subway labs, they're common in those.
>>579199946I don't think launchers eject casings to begin with. They should be dumped into your inventory when you reload, just like revolvers and single-shot guns.
>>579199946That's all fine and dandy if you're after normal launcher ammo, but the different .22lr and .410 using shells require specific casings that are different from the sponge, HEDP, and tear gas casings. Normal 40x46 ammo isn't unobtainium, the fancy weird shit like the beehive or hornet's nest rounds are what's unobtainium. Yes you can recycle the casings you have, but if you only ever find one hornet's nest round you only ever have one shot before needing to go back to your workshop.
Just how much of a pain in the ass would it be to only use flintlock and cap and ball black powder firearms in CDDA?
>>579151441Have to doble check but isn't the statue the one that damages you on kill?
>>579198873First time I see anyone post about siralim. I should replay it
>>579203498I've only used the underbarrel GL attachment on a rifle and that one dropped casings on the floor for me. I think. Or maybe I reloaded on the spot which dropped the old one. I just remember having to pick them up.>>579205198Oh sorry, I didn't realize they had special casings and assumed they used the standard ones. I don't think I've even seen those particular launcher grenades, though I tend to gloss over weird ammo I don't intend to use. Yeah, that is pretty weird that you basically can't get them without dumb luck.Maybe the hub merc bar weapon guy can sell them, he carries some rare stuff. But last I checked his stock was mostly flamethrowers, laser rifles and pistols, and those caseless pistols and rifles with ammo for them. The caseless guns don't seem to be worth using at all, as they're only marginally better than standard guns, but finding ammo for them yourself is rare, and buying it from the weapon guy is crazy expensive.
>>579151441is your furnace upgraded with flames of sorcery?
>>579151441You are chain lightning yourself
>>579205494Massive pain in the ass. Muzzleloaders take so long to reload you only really get one shot, and they aren't strong enough to one-shot most zombies. Civil war revolvers also take fairly long to reload, and you need to find the revolver first.
>>579209084Not the guy who originally asked, but I wonder if it would be workable with a significant npc firing squad? Are npcs smart enough to reload black powder stuff? And are they smart enough to swap to an actually loaded pistol instead of reloading the one they're holding? If they can do both, maybe you can give them a musket each, 2 more muskets worn as clothing via strap, 12 flintlock pistols in 2 baldric holsters, and 2 more flintlock pistols in 2 large holsters (normal holsters should be too small to hold those). The musket should take off like 2/3 of a standard's zombie health, and each pistol should take off like half. That's around 9 normal zombies per npc before they need to reload, so if you have enough guys you can probably take on small waves at a time with such a squad. You can probably stuff more flintlock pistols in by making more large holsters and attaching them to molle belts, load bearing vests, ballistic vests and such and wearing those too. I think you're limited to 1 ballistic vest, but load bearing vests and molle belts should be ok to have 2 of. Maybe you can even mix different kinds of load bearing vests, as there are light, normal and heavy variants.Although I guess you can just stuff as many as you can in the biggest backpack you have and just use that instead. But backpacks tend to have slow drawing times.

I bumped a commercial blimp while trying to board it and it sent it floating off. interesting
Forcing circular distances into a square grid is retarded
comfy
I too tested a blimp after arguing about it with anons and I gotta say, this is actually quite comfy. It won't be really feasible to make this into a proper mobile base though which is what I want out of my vehicles since the lift capacity is so lacking, but for some people that like to travel light this does seem quite useful. I converted it into a hovering weapons platform to provide overwatch for my cabin where I keep my harem.
Here she is as seen from above, providing cover for my cabin base. I actually quite like it.
>>579220503damn looks sick, makes me want to start a base and just have my airship for going out and exploring. Do you have wandering hordes on?
>>579217673>>579220503Didn't know blimps were a thing in the game. Pretty cool.
What does "Damage Shield" here refer to?There doesn't seem to be a spell/talent/whatever with that name.
I can't believe how legit zombie high school mod is, it has so much random shit in it
>>57919994640mm grenades are mostly useful as a vehicle mounted weapon. some of the military sites will have a big pile of 40mm and if you are lucky one of those 6 round milkor launchers, they are very good for clearing out large groups of zombies that would otherwise take hundreds of rounds out of an m249.
>>579221723I do yes. But even if I didn't, I like to fortify my base for RP reasons. My guy is probably the last hope of humanity and if he and his 20 wives fall then it's game over for planet Earth. So why wouldn't he take some extra effort to place turrets for that extra safety?
*ends your run*
>>579217673>It won't be really feasible to make this into a proper mobile base though which is what I want out of my vehicles since the lift capacity is so lackingHow many tons do you need?

>>579237593>there's weight limits? The maximum lift is the weight limit.>Do you need high driving skill? No.
>>579236268>How many tons do you need?Around 15 seems to be appropriate.
>>579238960How much of that is the weight of the heli?
>>579237593In DDA, you need a special perk which you can only get by picking the helicopter pilot at character creation. In BN, you can fly anything with zero training or experience.
>>579237593There are three types of aircraft. Blimps, which can float without power, but are kind of slow. Choppers, which can float with power. And planes, that can take off with speed. For choppers and blimps it's kind of straightforward, you can take off and land vertically without caring much of anything, but with planes you need a runway. The benefit of planes is that they can exceed their maximum lift, so you can really haul a lot of goods.I personally like to combine the features of choppers and airplanes. I put in rotors (and later on repulsor fields) and cover the outer layer of the craft with wings. That lets me take off and land vertically if needed, and also save a lot of power when flying around by taking unnecessary motors offline. Pic related, I can cruise at 135km/h for literally hours with just one motor running. In fact I'd probably be able to get more range by installing a lower tier motor, but at this state of the game it doesn't really matter.>>579239479I'm not sure. I am carrying around a gaggle of women from mi-go camps, and there's a lot of weapons and clothing for them on board. And lots of food and water. I guess I could dump everything and check if you'd like.
>>579239562>In DDA, you need a special perk which you can only get by picking the helicopter pilot at character creation. Also 99.9% of all choppers you find are not airworthy. And to modify them you need a perk that cannot be obtained without debugging console. And if ANYTHING on them breaks they immediately and permanently turn un-airworthy.
>>579239864If it's too much effort, don't worry about it.Nice ride btw.
are BN artifacts like old dda artifacts? I remember getting an incredibly busted sword in dda back in the day, it gave invisibility and clairvoyance and was a pretty good weapon on top of that
>>579239864And the benefit if doing it like this is that you can really haul ass if you need/want to.
>>579240058>And if ANYTHING on them breaks they immediately and permanently turn un-airworthy.Oh yeah, this is a bad one. There's a starting scenario that just gives you a free helicopter, so you can skip the whole RNG dance, but as soon as a wall-climbing zombie smashes a window, it's grounded forever.
>>579240202I checked, with most of the stuff on board the mass is just under 10 tons.>Nice ride btw.Thanks. It's complete overkill, but my RP autism demands over-engineering everything with multiple layers of redundancy and this is the ultimate end result.
>>579240276Pretty sure they are.Shame that no branches have the overmap artifact sites anymore though.
>>579240284That was actually the reason why I moved to Bright Nights, I gave myself the aeronautical engineering perk that let me modify an Apache I found on an aircaft carrier, and then after multiple IRL DAYS of collecting resources and tuning it to where I wanted it I flew it on top of a lab enterance, took stepladders down, smashed in a wall with a sledgehammer and by doing so apparently broke something on the chopper on the level above and turned it into a glorified brick.I do like how DDA models in the rotors so that you can't just fly between buildings all willy-nilly, but everything breaking with a breeze and not being able to land on a field because hitting bushes immediately disintegrates the rotor blades.
I think something is broken when I read, might be something to do with the artifact I found bugging out my int.>>579241114sweet. is the only source mines then? I recall before it was just some kind of debris fields and mines that you could get them from but that was ages ago

Playing the apotheosis mod for noita this weekend. What a heap of shit these nerfs to pierce effects are. I'm at the point that's usually annoying and busy work with breaking perk rerolls but they made it even more annoying by making the worlds much wider.
>>579261897>Does it do well with high Z-levels?I'm not sure, so far I've only set up base in evac centers which only have 1 extra level up and down. The mod basically compels the horde to approach your exact location so as long as they're in render and can path/smash their way to you it should work? They'll probably shred the first floor of your building though.
Its retarded runtime errors about wool allergy trait my guy doesn't even have, wtf aislop code is this
>>579260737Oh right, can't believe I forgot to mention this part: you can also change what type of enemies are used for the hordes. Meaning you could totally fuck your base up by sending in bandits instead.I haven't fucked with this though so no idea how well it works.
>>579241114That is a shame. They were kinda funky and buggy, but they were super fun anyway. I think they were one of the first things the DDA team axed for being unrealistic, way before BN forked away.
>>579263690The reason why I like the surrounded start is because the high rise apartment buildings are extremely sturdy. Basically only hulks are able to smash the reinforced concrete walls apart and bring the building down, so it's an extremely safe location for the early game. Plus, there's a fuckton of books, food and water in the individual apartments. And you get vision on your immediate surroundings since you start on Z-level 8.Maybe I'll try some extra challenging innawoods start with that mod, it could be interesting.>>579266248I see, that's definitely something I'll be picking up for a masochist run. Would the LeMat be useful as a pocket "oh shit" gun if I don't want to use any modern weaponry? I'm thinking that 20g shotgun barrel would help it punch a little above what the .44 cap and ball can do in an emergency. I know it's been taken out of current DDA, but it's still in TLG.
>>579277480It's fine as long as you always keep a strong gun ready to kill raptors. Preferably in a fast holster so you don't get shredded after opening the wrong door or turning the wrong corner. The rest of the dinos are slow enough to outmaneuver in most cases.
