I had a weird and somewhat detailed schizo dream about deltarune, I wrote it down when I woke up so I was able to recollect most of its important bits. I tend to have weird lucid dreams from time to time so I've kinda learned how to remember them. That being said, the first half is a bit fuzzy and disjointed, as dreams tend to be.We open in a small town, kinda like snowdin, kinda like the regular town in Deltarune, and there's a winter festival going on. Everything's in third person, but you know how in dreams you inherently "know" things. Well in this dream I inherently "knew" that I was Kris, at least like, partially, cause at the same time I was still myself, and the world was a mix of the game world and the real life world. No Susie or Ralsei yet, but there are other characters around, mainly family and friends - even though they werent actually my real family and friends. We walk around doing stuff, but this part is a bit vague I dont remember it very well. It quickly transitions to this sort of big, tall mansion building. Its got multiple stories, there's a living space and a sort of open space cubicle office area, and generally its quite large. Now in this house, two "teams" of people begin to form. There's the good guys, me, friends, family etc, and then there's the bad guys, woah shocking concept. These bad guys look generally just like us, but again in dream logic you just know what they are. There's also a weird symbology about them, because a lot of them have something to do with Ravens, or Crows. Like a feather in a clothing detail, or a bird skull things like that. And while we're not in direct conflict with one another, both groups are trying to find a certain something in this massive house, while not trying to give away hints and stuff to the other teamI was gonna post this on /v/ but the thread got deleted. I’ve been looking back on chapter 5 now that it’s going to be almost two months after the initial release. And in hindsight, the flowers are the most “fandomish” characters besides flowery. I won’t deny that there’s more to them than that depending how you personally interpret their desire to be humans but it’s like when I first saw queen back in 2021, she felt less like a character and more like funny memebait in the early portions of chapter 2. Likewise, aside from maybe aqua, the flowers don’t do anything to stand out from the dozens of already existing interpretations of the six fallen humans. Nothing was done differently other than them trying to be humans which doesn’t mean much.

With more time they could have been more, but the chapter was PACKED with characters.I still really like them. I just acknowledge they have a lot of writing flaws.

Carol and Rudy are adults who would have seen the immediate fallout of their actions in disappearing Dess and tearing apart their families, and continued with their Knight plans anyway. Dess has been missing for years, most likely trapped in a seemingly eternal hell, and has a basically zero percent chance of being a well-adjusted person with a normal, developed sense of morality and right-and-wrong. It's more understandable that Dess would think manipulating Kris and kidnapping and killing people is worth it for her goals, though by no means excusable.

If there's one thing I enjoy about Deltarune coming out chapter by chapter, it's the speculation, especially this wonderfully meta type where we're wondering what the original vision was and we'll be looking back on these discussions, thinking about how the original game or the dream ending relates to it and how wrong or how right we were.
