And to celebrate the newest thread, I hit a landmark!
Stalker 2 is so fucking blurryPlus i can't distinguish npcs walking around Most of the time i just shoot everyone on sightThe binos dont help at all
>>579305648you need upgraded binoculars. anything better than the worst one can detect friendly or foe. but yeah its real bad
how do i fix this? unmodded
>>579305648This alone makes them worthwhile
>>579305781RUH ROH
>>579305781You don't, it's a bug with the game itself.Has been like this since release.
>>579305781The zone claims another victim
Found a new anomaly south of the Duga.
>>579287513Sorry no, there was no retconCS was a controlled op. The events of CS were mostly for show. CS fought against Monolith because C-Con didn't inform anybody of the truth and wanted to get rid of Scar and CS. There's literally no issues whatsoever. You can dislike what happened and was chosen but it's as simple as what I said: It was all an op, C-Con was smashing their assets together like a kid with action figures. Cope. It's not like CS was even anything short of the worst game by far so it being "disrespected" like that shouldn't bother you at all. I actually think Scar getting as much as does in S2 is insane and very very cool/lucky for Scar fans.
This is the highest tier biggest bullshit I have seen in the game. There's door that requires a code. There's an arrow on the wall that points to a sign in cyrillic, but even if you translate it, it's just some name of place that doesn't exist on the map. You're supposed to go truck cemetery which is very far from the locked door, then you need to find 4 marked vehicles (there are dozens of vehicles there) in 4 different parts of the cemetery, and then combine numbers on the licenses plates. There's no fucking way even 1% of players would figure it out on their own.
>>579307413I figured it out on my own. I couldn't find all the cars that have codes on them though and ended up looking it up. just fyi a lot of the keycodes are like that. You have to explore. They really pussied out in CoH because now a majority of the keycode solutions are single room puzzles where you don't even have to explore at all.If you wanna complain about an unfair code, complain about the one high up at Malachite with NO CLUES in-game and that requires ARG knowledge to solve. The community literally just bruteforced attacked it.
>>579300335>>579295924The clouds are great. They're used to great effect in a few platforming puzzles which use them as a means of jumping and yes, I'd rather jump off the roof, climbing up was tedious enough as it was.Jesus christ you guys are such fucking faggots. Back in 2009 we woulda just made funny Assassin's Creed memes about the LEap of Faith and that's it. Now you're so jaded you'd rather clumsily backtrack and waste a ton of time instead of a quick jump.
>>579307413i figured this one out on my own. kinda.i found all the cars because i noticed that the marked cars had the same symbol as the keypad. i still had to google it because i was one-thousand percent sure that one of the cars read as a 0 instead of 5. oh well.also it threw me off for quite a while that theres just a random ass building close to the car park that has the same symbol as the cars. but it just doesnt seem to have anything to do with the puzzle lmao
>>579307413I would love to see you play Silent Hill with Puzzles on Hard difficulty.
>>579308045There's hobo marks all over>EyeMeans look here or look from here>Stash symbolSelf explanatoryI think it's by far one of the coolest things they added in S2.
>>579308231Makes no sense because why would you mark your stash so others can find it when you can just hide your shit and remember where you hid it or at least take a pic
Any missable quests and items in S2?Where are all the sidequests btwIve done one in lesser zone and another in The zone to the northThats it
>>579308580Tons, and how anon. Even focusing the main quest, you are bound to run into more side content while moving between areas.
>>579308580The sidequests are all over with NPCs you meet in the world and at bases. Some sidequests iirc actually start just because you found a PDA somewhere. There's very little that's missable overall. Maybe a couple unique guns? I feel like Ratkiller maybe gets blocked off once you complete the associated mission?
>>579308231Huh i dont think ive seen the eye symbol anywhere else. other than that building then. I'm gonna keep my eye out for them hehe
I'm not spooked you're spooked
>>579308519Some stashes are intended for the common good. I do kind of agree though, some of these ones marked with hobo symbols feel like somebody's person hoarding spot, not a common use "here's a medkit and ammo in case any fellow Duty homies need it while on patrol"
>>579308767>myhouse.wad: slav edition
>>579308701No ideaI just got to the second big town and am on that Main quest>>579308753Well damn guess i gotta read more
>>579308963That was a really cool anomaly
>>579287513>the idea always was that cs leaders used to work in the labs and knew about c-con, but they split up and weren't working with them and had no means of communicationYou pull it out of internal design documents, not from the game materials. There was one mention that Lebedev and Kalancha worked on X project, but it was added only in CoP. And I bet GSC added it only because everyone was shitting on CS plot.By the way, even design documents don't make it clear if they knew about c-con or not. It just says they split before c-con was created. The wording is vague, and devs never clarified it because they figured out it would add more plot holes. If CS knew about c-con, and they knew that Strelok can cause a global catastrophe, why the fuck did they hire mercenaries instead of going straight to military?Overall the whole idea is the same. Lebedev had information no one else in Clear Sky faction had. He was hiding the truth.
>>579309684Nah, reading is fun and it makes the world feel more alive and gives some context for certain missions and shit but if the PDA is a "quest" thing it'll immediately hit you with a popup and the PDA itself wil have a little "quest item" tag on it. Point is: There's lots of sidequests. Basically every major base has a couple NPCs who will give you a few sidequests in addition to any extra quests you find from people around the world. If you're at the Slag Heap right now [the most likely "second town", there should be a quest for a few bandits to go leave some offerings at the graves of their dead comrades.
Damn this bandit was TEEMING
>>579310156Nice. NPC corpse looting working as intended. If only they'd be carrying artifacts more often. I've only found maybe ONE artifact on a corpse.
>>579308045>>579307601>I figured it out on my own!>but I still had to google it...Yeah, the point is that every single other key code has a solution that is located within 50 meters from the door. This is one is half a kilometer away with no clear indication that you need to go there. Well, maybe that cyrillic sign has some significance, but I can't read. So the supposed search area is just insane.>>579308205There's no SH puzzle even remotely similar to that. They are logic puzzles, not are lookup puzzles. For examples Shakespeare puzzle in SH3 is always considered to be one of the most complicated in the series. The books are literally 1 meter away from the code door.
>>579310896I had to google it because even though I figured out the task, it was too tedious and gay. Your complaint isn't that the puzzle is gay, is that's you can't figure it out.
>>579310896they should have used the actual sign that around the car park instead sure
>>579311010Oh, and how did you figure it out that you need to go to truck cemetery?
>>579311512There was nothing nearby and I'd already seen "we scratched the password into the environment" puzzles before.
>>579309969Yeah that's the sidequest i did at slag heapBut there's not a single blue icon on the map yet again
>>579312807They don't work like that. You'll have to explore. They only get marked once you've interacted or passed nearby. Don't chase blue marks. Go to various PoIs and major settlements. That's where it all is aside from the ones where an NPC out in the world might holler at you or something.
>>579311979In that range there's >Yantar's Production Complex>Scientist Bunker>Pipe Yard>Chasm>Trailer Dump>Drainage>Containers>Parking Lotand lots of other locations, but you specifically figured it could be only truck cemetery. Yeah, it all makes total sense.
>>579313205Nah, the trucks are closest. Just cope faggot. You got beat by a shitty game. Deal with it.
>be stalker in the zone>be outside on smoke break>it starts raining>go inside>see my good buddy>he tells me his knee hurts which means its either going to rain or its an emission>look outside>its rainingholy shit how did he know?
>>579313293>Nah, the trucks are closest.I literally posted the map >>579310896, you retarded faggot. And that red circle is the distance to one of the trucks with the symbol. And you can clearly see that Yantar map from the SoC is way fucking closer than the closest truck with the symbol. How fucking brown do you need to be to fucking lie like that when the map was already posted itt?
>>579314274I'm not lying. The trucks are the closest possible spot to check. You're also likely to have spotted one of the marked trucks before finding the bunker. Sorry dude, it's on you. It's your fault. Allow your ego to take the minuscule scratch that this might inflict to it. I figured it out totally organically. You had a melty and ran to sperg out online and shit up the discussion space with your ego crisis. Fucking kill yourself.
>>579313603what he didn't tell you was
half the posts i make i immediately regret posting once its up.
>>579313603He's attuned to the Zone
Dead air bros...
>Duga sniper tanks an AP round to the dome>Turns around and one taps me
>>579314598>I'm not lying. The trucks are the closest possible spot to check. kek, the brown retard doubles down
Was watching some Youtubes this afternoon and saw that they didn't remove this hammer & sickle from the Enhanced Edition. GSC confirmed chuds.
>>579315408Simple judgement eliminates those spots that are physically closer with a variety of obvious logical conclusions. The car park is the most likely and closest candidate when you eliminate obvious duds like the mobile science lab or whatever else which will be host to their own little puzzles.
>>579315408theres a bunch of CARs that are PARKed you had to jump on in order to jump down into the dam bunker. it gets you into the mindset that you have to go to the car park
>>579315506They went back and uncensored the enhanced versions a little.
https://www.nexusmods.com/stalker2heartofchornobyl/mods/2537For those NVG complainers, ask and ye shall receive
Jesus christ Lymank was awesome as fuck. The weird geometry and later the fog chase section in the institue were so cool. Reminded me of the ashtray maze in Control.I just wish it was harder or did adapt more to player gear. With less loot. I play on Veteran+ and got top notch gear, didn't even take damage in the boss fight.
>>579314969the other half are diamonds though
>>579316147Yeah I liked nightmare Limansk, shame we didn't see the normal version
>>579315615>>579315614>it gets you into the mindset that you have to go to the car parkOh right, the car park! Yes, it's indeed nearby, and it's even closer than one of the code symbols. I am keking so hard right now.
>>579316794>he's ESL tooLOL and you wanna call people brown? Kill. Your. Self.
>>579316442Yeah. At first I thought this was the physical location, just completely surrounded by this nightmare anomaly. I expected to exit the place normally and end up in red forest or something with black clouds behind me.
>>579307413The Brain Scorcher Tunnel code was a real noodle scratcher until I realized I was over thinking it and it was just the whole code and there wasn't anything to decipher. And I hadn't played SoC for more than a decade.
s-sidorovich?SID???
I refuse to drop anything, Malachite is supposedly closer in distance but I'd have to cross in front of Duga and I don't know what's in there. I can't go Chemical Plant since I sided with the schizos instead of Ward.
>>579317197You cant just walk right into Malachite anyways. You would get mad.
>>579317302I can, I already got some of their quests done. I'm just debating where to go that won't take me 3 hours round trip (I still have stuff to explore here)
>>579316996i farted and close the hermetic door behind me... it was just supposed to be a prank...
>>579316996where'd you get the rohypnol and how did you slip it in his vodka witout him noticing
>>579317517Right. There's a burnt forest quest line that adds a base to burnt forest at the end. You -could- just make a temporary stash and go find that questline and finish it before finishing at Duga.
>>579316865>car park>noun [ C ]>uk /ˈkɑː ˌpɑːk/ us /ˈkɑːr ˌpɑːrk/>(US parking lot)>an area of ground for parking carsHahahaha, I'm fucking dying.
>>579317746QRD

>>579317829Go to Burnt Forest, Get the distress call, go to the old mine and save the stalker. This starts the questline. It was a free update last year.

>>579318327
>>579318327Are you locked out of this if you already did SIRCAA? Doing a Ward playthrough so I have the plant for when I'm coming back from Duga but somehow didn't come across this when going through there.
>check a new s2 mod>fully vibecoded
>>579318694No you must have simply not found the/a trigger. It's sort of random allegedly. Just wander around?
>>579318694I know the quest he's talking about, it was a radio communication from Banzai (you can also hear him saying other stuff at the Iron Forest if you get into the Faraday Anomalies), I just never followed through with it assuming it was some random shit of a POI that I had yet to find (in this case it is). I'm gonna go to Malachite and go do that mission before coming back down south.
>all side quests failed after doing SIRCAA shooting gallery fuck this game
>>579318329>the fucking retard still can't understand that car park and parking lot is the same thingSure, I am denouncing Vishnu.
man stalker 2 is STILL a buggy piece of shit. >sided with freedumb in Cost Of Hope>after the arena ambush i find mavka dead upstairs while shes on comm telling me to get out rostok>ask myself is this a ruse of some sort or a bug>pick up her gun next to her corpse and make my way out all the while shes still talking to me on comms>its all so weird and strange i just look up the mission online to see how its supposed to play out>apparently you only get her gun from zulu if you side with duty lol>get to cnpp>voice lines from mavka from the previous monorail mission plays>mavka still fucking with me for some reason
>>579319357On my second full playthrough since launch and just hit this point as well. What have I now locked myself out of?
Ok, I take back what I said about joining the Scientists the other day
Looking for the S2 teaser GSC released around 2011. Short 10s or so video of just walking through a vibrant green swamp. Was lead to believe someone here might still have it so leaving this up with every new thread.
>>579307874No, no, they're not. You're just fucking retarded.

>>579316867It's still a normal location they were probably just too lazy to make it so they made it so in this instance it's been stuck in a spatial anomaly. Either that or it's another fucking retcon and now suddenly CS never happened (just like the other 3 games apparently didn't happen according to the map)
>>579318327Red forest is where you start that quest, burnt forest is where it ends up
>>579324167>ither that or it's another fucking retcon and now suddenly CS never happened (just like the other 3 games apparently didn't happen according to the map)The Stalker 2 map never implies the other three games didn't happen. Also, they explain Limansk in-game. The spatial anomalies swallowed up the city between CS and Stalker 2.Fucking tourist,
I fucking LOVE gamma
>>579310278In my experience, only in SoC the npcs could have artifacts, in CS and CoP i found 0 artifacts on their corpses.
> Play cost of cope > Side with dooty on a hunch > Finish the story, cool ending, we did what we had to > Decide to look up the freedumb path on YT because dear God I'm not going through that again > you get stabbed because that bitch mavka just somehow knew how that creepy thing in a jar works, she fucks off and leaves the zone and now the creepy jar things are being sold to the rest of the world for muh miracles of course and NOT to pfizer or defense contractors LMFAO Dolg forever, always follow intuition and never trust dude weed lmao people
>>579324458It implies that in SoC marked one walked around the entire map to turn off the scorcher then went ti pripyat then walked all the way back to garbage and just walked in the power plant like he and everyone else could have done from the very start lol > Inb4 but geographically it's more realistic this way Igaf I hate it, according to realism nothing happened around Chernobyl in 2006 either
>>579304456we really need a mod that expands limansk's map, it'd be cool to have a map that isn't basically a linear shooting gallery
>>579326089What happened to that supposed future dlc secret of limansk or whatever it was called? There's a radio transmission near the bridge in base game which implied we'll go thereOr is nightmare limansk all we're ever gonna get?
>>579325205Also > freedumbers are so retarded that despite holding the biggest base in the sequel and having the most power of all other factions they start a civil war in Rostok because their leader got too jewish and started a pissing contest with some foid What a clown show kek the DLC is 10/10 I'm telling you
>>579325853It doesn't imply this at all.If you actually played SoC, instead of larping like you had, you'd know that the C-Con agent Strelok talks to at the end of the DLC mentions there is a network of Psi devices/fields that protects the center of the zone. The Brain Scorcher was never the only thing guarding it.We also know that the Iron Forest area only became accessible after the Scorcher went down(as confirmed in Call of Pripyat), and we see Brain Scorcher like Psi antenna in the Iron Forest in Stalker 2. And we also know of several other facilities, and see several other installations, that also generate psi-fields, in Stalker 2, such was the Wild Island antenna. Not to mention places like the Red Fortress, DUGA, and Azimuth station, are all part of the X-network and help send the signal across the zone in Stalker 2.If you actually map all of these out you get pic realted, which pretty accurately reflects what areas were available in Stalker 1, and the others that only became available once the Psi fields went down, including the only recently opened areas in Call of Pripyat like Zaton. You made the most tourist argument ever, as anyone who played SoC could tell you that you're fucking wrong. Poser.
>>579326294>What happened to that supposed future dlc secret of Limansk or whatever it was called? Secrets of Limanks was just the work in progress name for Cost of Hope. The signal at the bridge connected to the Zombie FM signal in the "Untold Stories" update from awhile back, and all the lore that the Psi Embryos were supposed to connect to the giant brain in X-16(which is in the DLC) to contact and control the Noosphere.
>>579326951Are there in-game hints for the next dlc?
Do i need the S2 dlc?
>>579326738Ok no problem I'll now forget that I ever played soc multiple times first being in 07 so it appears that you were right. But all that what you said about psy emitters and which ones were what doesn't matter, these explanations don't do anything when we played 2 games on the same part of the map and had 2 different characters see them that way, not even counting CoPWe start in cordon, fi through garbage, go to agroprom, back through garbage to rostok, then through garbage again to dark valley to x18, then back around and make it back to rostok again, then we go to yantar, then army warehouses, to radar so we can shut that shit down. Pripyat, power plant, endgame.
>>579327224Next DLC is heavily implied to take us to Cold Island, which was mentioned in the base game as the place where Dalin did the 2nd Caribbean experiment, which Scar/Spark disrupted, which led to the anomalies forming outside the Zone that destroyed Skiff's house. On top of the mentions in the base game, Cold Island is marked as a DLC location in old dev maps, and there's some new infographic added in this DLC that mentions a lot of the X network, including mentioning Cold Island.Besides Cold Island we really don't know where else the DLC might take us. A dev map added to the game files in the Path 1.3 update showed what looked like panned expansions to the Yaniv, Jupiter, and Priypat, areas. Adding in the ventilation Complex/Oasis in Yaniv, the Jupiter factory in Jupiter, and basically the entire rest of the city of Pripyat. This may be supported by the fact GSC said that Stalker 2, and its 2 DLC, will form a "new trilogy" similar to SoC, CS, and CoP. Stalker 2's base game very clearly draws from SoC, and Cost of Hope has clear parallels to Clear Sky. So DLC being Call of Pripyat related, thus adding in these new areas to CoP realted areas, makes sense. Also, the base Stalker 2 let us find the SoC main menu location, and Cost of Hope added in the Clear sky main menu location. So DLC 2 doing the same for CoP's main menu, which showed the city of Pripyat and the Ferris Wheel, would seem to back that up.All we've heard from GSC on DLC 2 is that it will be very different from Cost of hope, and seemingly not like faction vs faction like Cost of hope was.
>>579327857Did they say it's gonna be bigger? Or are we just gonna get a new area and a few new guns?
vaped againim sweating bulletsi need to quiti cant play stalker without it
>>579328119There's been no mention on size. There will probably be more landmass added, but it will be more wildness-like areas(especially Cold Island/Yaniv)
>>579328689I remember long before this dlc they showed scar's voice actor recording new lines so I'm thinking it's gonna expand the base game story which would be great, but since you mentioned Caribbean experiment it's probably just gonna be a flashback of sorts where scar fucks up their plans, I guess
There's a similar puzzle in a different place. Pic related, there's a building on the left with a code lock, and the building is marked with an eye symbol. And then there's a vehicle with the same eye symbol on the right. I managed to fit them both in one screenshot. The lock and the solution are in the same location, so it's very easy to discover it. The Yantar dam puzzle is definitely an outlier in terms of solution placement.
>>579328986What is interesting to note is that the official STALKER 2 site shows, for the ultimate edition, that the season pass will include "2 story DLC, and any future DLC" and GSC has been coy about saying how many DLC total there will be, only that there's plan for two STORY DLC, which leaves room open for non story based DLC.The fact a 3rd DLC, that being "sandy Plateau" is mentioned on both pre-release dev maps, and even an updated map in Patch 1.3, indicates they may have a 3rd, non sotry, based DLC planned that could add in some of the areas around Pripyat, or other areas, as well.
>>579307413The bottom left one, an 8, is even located next to a building with a keypad locked door. The keypad doesn't have power and is used for a quest I think, but the fact the puzzle stretches that far it interferes with another is a bit silly.
>>579329263Please tell me you aren't the same anon and still on this. It's okay boss. I haven't even gotten to this yet and I'm sure my dumbass would have to google it if you boys hadn't spoiled it already.
>>579325853Dude, people have been bitching about unlealistic SoC map layout since 2007.
>>579325205>>579326629At least they finally did something good in S2, I love that they didn't make it nooooanced and there's just one good side Then again Duty was vindicated and proven right in the first 5 seconds of this game and all the zone isn't expanding people were shut up
>>579330683I wanted to reply to >>579307413, but forgot to click on the post.
>>579315750>They went back and uncensored the enhanced versions a little. Not for much longer, once I've picked up my HRT, I shall write them a strongly worded email.
>>579329263Is that a film grain or rads or something? No fucking way the game looks that bad
>Just triple Kobe'd this Chimera with F-1 grenades Best kill I've done so far
Did GSC play Hazardous Course one night and decided they needed this in the game?
>>579336716Yes, it's high radiation, it adds film grain and white noise effects.
>>579337396Bro the entire sirca mission is a half life reference, gsc always were hl fanboys even in the OG games
CoP or SoC, which one to play? Just finished Clear Sky again
God I hate almost all the guns in S2 but the new bubba'd notSKS absolutely slaps, this is the kind of shit we need, this and the weird guns from the originals like LR300ML and FN2000
>>579337926Is that why an infinite amount of rats pour out of the Gordon Freeman Memorial Underpass?
>>579338280Kek freeman is still there he's just a skeleton now and unfortunately we don't find a 9x39 caliber tel aviv eagle next to him
>>579338113In fact, is Master difficulty actually good on CoP?
>>579338228Yeah I'm not a fan of generic assault rifle/AK number 3 million. Been using the Mosin for my playthrough and loving it. Also love the Rhino but it's hard to give up the starter pistol. I'm not a gunfag and this probably wouldn't make sense historically or geographically but having a lever action or a trench gun or something would also be awesome.
>>579338714No need to be a gunfag, gun selection in stalker was always weird and had strange and rare weapons that didn't make sense to be in the zone, the trs301 or whatever it's called in the game is a notM4 example of a weird gun that's really rare and obscure irl, doesn't even have the same mechanism, then there was the big ben deagle that used rifle rounds somehow, not to mention gauss guns. It's a scifi game, weapons shouldn't be incredibly realistic because it's just dull
>>579338714Well if you look at the guns that have popped out during the current day war in Ukraine you'd see that there's a lot of old ass guns being passed around and even some weird Unicorn guns like the F2000. The Mosin is still "in use" so it would make sense (and it will still kill anyone with the round it uses anyway), but there's some shitty WW2 SMGs that have been spotted, too. To disconnect from reality a little, think that fuckface gopnik wants to be a Stalker and make money, what is he bringing to the Zone? Whatever he can find, that could be some gun he stole or grandpa's gun he found in the basement. Pic rel is a Maxim gun, first used in 1886. Basically, if it kills things, it would find its way to a shithole like the Zone.
>>579339415They use all kinds of ancient guns in war because there's really no reason not to, they shoot and blow holes in what they're aimed at As for the zone, some of them that feel out of place have been explained on how they made it in, AK74s, PMs and double barrels are a no brainer. According to the lore, SA80s made it into the zone because someone stole an entire shipment that sucked and that's the reason they're bad in the game, gauss gun is what the monolith made out of clear sky's prototype etc
Damn this bitch is going to make me rich, guess I'm a hunter now. Just finished 6 of her quests back to back
>>579340038>SA80s made it into the zone because someone stole an entire shipment that suckedSA80s were actually just terrible fucking guns. Wasn't until the newest variant the British forces found them tolerable. Doesn't surprise me one bit they are in the Zone, I'd sell those pieces of shit in an instant
>>579340353I noticed a bug where if you're given a task for mutant parts 2 times in a row, it's gonna be greyed out as a dialogue option and you'll lose the parts but won't get money for them If you don't have something just reject the job until there's no request and go sleep and you'll get new ones
>>579340038Well as with any game, the guns that make it in are usually whatever the developer likes at the time and then they just adjust the "lore" to make it make sense. The Pankor Jackhammer was a famous gun that was in every game in the 90s because it looked cool as fuck even though it was a complete waste of materials IRL and only like 2-4 were made. Tarkov has this issue where Nikita refuses to put shit in like the Groza saying it makes no sense but then he puts in actual handcrafted shit for gun nuts that no army uses because he likes them. Personally I like the G11 and wish every game would feature it and even modernize the design to use Picatinny Rails and stuff. I think one of the newer CoDs did this but fuck playing that.
>>579340874G11 in stalker would be kino I heard that at the time SoC was being developed, LR300 was being shilled in gun magazines constantly and they added it in the game either because it looked cool or because they banked on it becoming popular irl, the same way XM8 was in every COD clone at that time Pancor jackhammer is still one of my favourite fake guns in media, I'm surprised nobody decided to just make one that actually works by now IRL, I don't think it's that complicated just have it use a normal drum that fits the profile instead of that weird webley revolver style drum or something
>>579341520I mean look at this motherfucking thing, this would go too hard around the endgame if dropped by one of the elite monolols inside the power plant, much better than the overused spas12
>>579341520>G11 in stalker would be kinoI mean Monolith already has the Gauss gun so anything short of that is already a possibility, maybe they stole the design and made a G12 (get it ha ha) as a case study and they liked it for their goons. >>579342018I admit it does look amazing but the whole reload thing and the fact that it weighs like 10kg unloaded made it incredibly impractical, funnily enough we got full auto shotguns after it was introduced so the idea has always been there. What STALKER 2 needs, now that it's getting more and more updates and Expansions is more guns and more ammo variety (this latter portion might be up to modders I guess) since having a revolver use 9x39 is retarded. They also need to just straight up copy homework from OXA's Expanded Armory and give us full fledged autism customization instead of it being tied to upgrades; upgrades can stay, mind you, as a way of tuning the stats on the guns, but they need to remove the attachments from it.
>>579342018Im guessing this inspired the Halo rifle and loads of other sci fi guns, pretty cool
heyyy 2 is actually playable now bretty good performance is night n day from when I played on release day and that god awful gayma gray visual not fitting with the trilogy was corrected
>>579344283Yeah man. The lighting and environments are actually amazing now. Whenever you get a rare sunny day it's so pretty.
>>579343406Cod black ops 6 or whichever it is made the jackhammer work by replacing the drum mag but it still looks the same, it should be doable irl and replace most of the parts with alu or polymers and it would be alright as a novelty or nostalgia farming gun It's a shame they removed 7.62x39 ammunition from S2 and it was in the game from the very start so we could have had AKMs, RPDs and a real SKS 9x39 revolver is dumb but it's still less retarded than 9x39 desert eagle from SoC lol but I still liked it a lot Agreed with the attachments
>>579343406>>579344452I can't hate on the Rhino being in that caliber because it's so well placed in terms of price and rarity. Feeding a Rhino 9x39 is maybe the most "bang" for your coupon you can hope for on a shot by shot basis given it can do shit like 2 shot a Polter if you headshot.
>>579343843Either that or the OICW which is another early 2000s bangerWhich also failed since the armies figured out space guns don't outclass the ol' reliables
>>579344672Just saying, intermediate rifle round could fit into a revolver cylinder (it would still fuck you up though) but it made no sense to have an autoloader pistol in that caliber lmao but it still slapped and was Johnny silverhands gun long long before 2077 was planned
>>579344283had to spring 400m during an emission for the nearest shelter :)) even tho there were houses that woulda worked in CoP nearby, kinda dumb, but made for a fun chase>>579344409visuals are great but I'd say 2 is still the worst stalker game even now, smth is missing, the gameplay is still floaty even on high FPS no framegen nonsense, gameplay was just tighter on the trilogy, and ofc i don't gotta talk about alife that can still use work, maybe in 3.0 it'll surpass clear skyand I literally upgraded my GPU just to play this game, but it was so busted on release I just couldn't, when I got the institute whatever the game completely broke down, I had to use console commands to get past it and nothing was the same ever since, now I'm starting a new run
>>579344452Yeah, just modernizing some of these guns would be cool, but again, it might not fit their "vision" for Stalker. They want to still be somewhat grounded and not have made up what-if guns. I still don't know why they removed 7.62x39 but I'm guessing it had something to do with the war and/or how modern Ukraine doesn't really use it anymore? I think most of the newer AKs all use 5.45x39 anyway.>>579344672The issue is not the gun itself, I love how it feels and the power behind it, it's just that I'd like to see all guns use their proper calibers. They probably didn't do it for the Rhino because that would mean introducing one ammo to the game that only one gun used (the Raging Bull can be .44 or .45 iirc) and they wanted to de-bloat, plus it's a nice throwback to the OGs. Just give me a lever action already.
>>579345612It's got nothing to do with the war, they still use a ton of AKMs and M70s, they removed it because there weren't any guns that really used it in game except the modified malyuk/dnipro and the pkm/rpm lmg which was a mistake By the time it was patched, people who had the modified dnipro got it in 7.62x54r which was as OP as you'd expect lol unfortunately I wasn't one of them

>Trying to get to the Old Mine after like 10 hours>All because that one anon told me>Miss it because no compass>Find Forester's old camp instead>There's a vendor thereWell time to make bank with all the good stuff I've been getting in the Red Forest
assuming there's still no point to use any of these pistols over skif's?
>>579347629Eventually you'll find enemies that Skif's pistol can't one shot anymore (helmets and such) and you might want to use a stronger one with better ammo + more range + more accurate + better attachments. You can by all means just use Skif's the whole game if you want, that being said. I like the USP because it very distantly reminds me of the SOCOM
>>579347629On Vet and Master everything is viable. Don't upgrade skifs pistol or make sure it is unloaded with no attachments and it'll have 0 weight. or just get a mod to put it in your stash
I cannot take Skif seriously anymore after an anon a few threads back said his real name is the Slavic cognate of Eugene. Nigga in the Zone really named "Eugene". At least Strelok's (cut) real name is Pavel.
>>579348012yeah i like the look of the usp, a classic
>>579348780I see why no one drives in the zone...
I think the main problem with S2 is the decision to railroad you so much in the level designConstant rivers, walls, and cliffs stopping you and from going where you want
>>579323105BEETUS
Is cost of hope better than the base game?
>>579351956>Has a foid front and centerDunno anon, take a guess it's actually pretty good but a little forced and lacking non-binary decisions
The S2 custom difficulty options are such a fucking joke
