Being a female chess player sucks. I love chess. I first started playing after my shifts at a Mexican bar. Once the kitchen crew clocked out, we would all have drinks and play chess. Since then, I've been in love with the game. I've played at other bars, online, college, clubs, etc. but my qualm is that no matter where I play the game, I feel like my gender gets in the way of a great experience. I have been watching a ~2100 chesscom guy playing. It is pretty funny. He larps like he knows a lot, but his decisions often are completely atrocious.He had the position on the left and he says:>I'll play ...Rc6 and if our opponent takes I will recapture and if he plays Rc1 I will play ...Rc8. Like that is a perfect course of action becoming completely passive. And 4 moves later he has the position on the right. This should be a coachable thing, this isn't visualization or tactics, just realizing that pieces need to be active and not passive. He says he even has a coach.
