Hot take: A big problem with XIV is that it doesn't lean into its biggest strengths gameplay-wise and it severely limits it. You can learn ALL jobs on one character, bring back cross-class skills and emphasize bosses that are strong and weak against elements and attack styles just as one example. A whole raid being immune to fire in WoW is crippling, in XIV it could just mean "Oh hm, so I should learn Summoner for this fight, or actually be ice mage, or--"...I miss slashing/piercing/blunt resist down debuffs, bros..

XIV is now above everything an e-dating and ERP game and everyone knows it (just look at twitter or this thread).
