Sure they're supposed to be personal stories but the fact that endmin is there and is the main character kind of ruins them from being personally engaging. It's more of because Endmin current story is lacking more than anything. I think it's simply because their amnesia takes more of a precedence and they haven't really established their main identity of what they want to do on Talos. Arcane was the first step towards something because it kind of had something going on with what Endmin brought with originium (ie originium is a recording of the people we love, blah blah). But imagine pulling Laev story and releasing it half a year or even later and Endmin is still like that. Blue Archive's story picked up once they decided to double down and give their main character some backbone and all of a sudden their Momotalks, what could be the equivalent of Operator Stories in that game, became pretty readable. Like he doesn't act the same in every Momotalk but he definitely has a reason to act the way he does in each, whether it's be playful or serious it's all driven by that character's ideal. We can talk about the Doctor which is a similar Amnesia character but Amiya serves as his guiding goal, his guiding light and supporting her through everything is what makes him so good.

You know my main disappointment in Endfield is that it isn't living up to it's potential story wise. Endmin's goal could be as waking up and realizing their power of originium is crucial for developing Talos so that life for everybody could be improved. Hence the factory must grow. Their conflict could come as simple as the fact that development and change aren't the easiest things to approach and originium could've easily been the scapegoat as it could literally be seen as poisoning the Talos moon for development. Instead Endmin is constantly being glazed and nothing ever is wrong with what Endmin and Endfield is doing. There's not even vague posting with the villains that the hero might be doing something bad.

The thing about designing for mobile is that it's very genre dependent. Arknights and Ex Astris work on mobile because they are genres that translate well to those devices. AK is controlled entirely by just clicking and dragging, which works well on both mobile and PC. Ex Astris is a turn based game, it only needs a couple of buttons to work so it also works fine on mobile.3D action games are notoriously not a genre that works well on mobile phones, good feeling action games have a ton of different inputs, so these kinda games need to be dumbed down heavily to be viable for mobile devices.This dumbing down is a large reason for why a big part of the OG Arknights community despises Endfield. Despite the fact that Endfield is supposed to be a sequel/successor to Arknights, it is absolutely not designed for the same audience as the original Arknights at all.

Just retain the directional dash and make it so "dodging" requires quick repositioning via that, rather than just mashing dodge into danger. They've ended up overcompensating

I am not a player of Endfield, but I will say just this. Sensor tower numbers are really not to be that trusted. A lot of those games have bigger playerbases on PC and consoles. It's not an EOS.
