I assume chariots balance out by being much slower than archer classes/assassins. They probably get more strength and defense/HP to compensate for that though. So you're basically sacrificing speedy and dodgy archers who crit a lot for slightly higher strength and tankier ones that have a charge move.Elephants will probably be similar, a version of a cav/great knight that likely has better defense and strength but has even worse movement, speed, and can't dodge.
