In KM/wotr, this would be a screen of goblins and you kill 20 of them and you just attack-move around, but in bg3 they have taken high ground that is 2 stories high and you have to spend resources to get up there or spells to shoot up, but there are high ground rules that make shooting from below less accurate.So my reason for preferring turn based is not actually anything about the specific real time vs turn based, but rather the typical kind of encounter design present in each style of game.Also, the timing mechanics of turn based and rtwp are not actually that different. There is nothing stopping you from pressing spacebar literally every other second to input your commands and take time to think.
