after much consideration I have concluded that the marksman 3x30 is probably my favorite optic currently in the game- cheap, compact, looks okay on most guns, much cheaper than LVPOs + no fumbling around spinning the slider trying to land on the right magnification- 3x magnification seems to be the sweet spot for a general purpose fixed optic in tarkov, comfortably useable down to laser/point fire range unlike 4x but can still easily make shots to almost any distance commonly encountered on tarkov maps unlike 2x- good fov/clarity unlike g36x 3x and similar integrated bullshit- reticle doesn't block half the screen like ACOG dogshit AND doesn't completely blow out under NV like most LVPO reticles (and in fact has just the right amount of bloom when illuminated you can use it to help see targets easier around the reticle because nikita is very good at alpha blending lol) + can disable illumination to maintain clear visibility against very bright scenes like someone shining at you- goes directly on the gun without any annoying ass mounts and shit to deal with unlike prism 2.5x/acogs/LVPOsonly real downside is no compact reflex mount so you'll have to use an offset mount or something if you really want it, but in my (95% night raids because I'm autistic) experience it's useable enough down to ranges where I would want to switch to IR laser aiming anyway so it's not as big of an issue as I thought it would beanyway I think it's cool please don't start buying them and raising the flea prices until I get around to unlocking it from jaeger thanks

As others have said, drop the back plate to a level 3 or 4 depending on your available points. You don't need the cheese or calok, use stims instead. I generally use perfotoran and adrenaline for healing. While they won't get you back to full HP, they give you a quick boost of health which is usually enough to keep you alive. That combined with propital is enough. Helmets aren't really necessary as even altyns and rys-ts will get punched through in a single round with the absolutely fucked way the arena stats are, but I throw one on when I can purely for the off chance that it'll bounce a round. It never does and I watch fucking CQCs bounce multiple rounds on my enemies when I shoot them all the fucking time. Class 4 armor/class 3 helmet is the bare minimum for fighting players, though ideally you want to run minimum class 5 armor/class 4 helmets when possible. Avoid helmets that block headsets, even if their armor class is higher than what you currently have, hearing is very important.

Then, I'd suggest tuning in-game PostFx (post-processing/ReShade). I disabled it when I was starting out because I personally didn't like and didn't believe in ReShade bullshit, but PostFx makes such a huge difference in target identification. You pretty much can't see dudes lurking in dark corners without it. Watch a YouTube video or two on properly setting it up. And lastly - I'm really sorry to say this, but watching YouTubers/streamers playing the game will teach you a lot about how the game works on at least the micro level, even if they're basically playing an entirely different game than you are after a couple days of progress. People here will give you some recommendations on good series' for beginners if you are willing to do that, 1.0 series' are generally applicable while also giving a glimpse into what the old contracts system which you narrowly avoided looked like and just how hard it funnelled noobs into the Customs baptism by fire.It took me a little over 300 hours to properly see Nikita Buyanov's vision in Escape From Tarkov, I expect it will take other sensitive people quite a bit longer than that, but there is more to this game than arenas for thousand-hour death squads to play Evil Counter-Strike against each other for eternity in.
