Don't know where else to ask this, but I got recommended Your Only Move Is Hustle and it's the worst multiplayer I have ever seen. It's just endless modded lobbies with custom characters you have to download, and if you try and pick a base game character to try and learn you get accused of being a tryhard. Explain. Because the reason throws exist in the first place is to stop players from blocking. By introducing throw breaks you give a defensive player an extra tool to defeat throws, allowing him to defend endlessly until the timer runs out. Originally, if you want to stop a player from blocking you throw them. To defeat throws, you punch them when they try to throw you. And to stop an overly aggressive player, you block. That's the whole rock-paper-scissors aspect. So why do throw breaks need to exist when these mechanics were already perfectly balanced? Keep in mind, this is not an argument about whether a player can throw break or not or how well you can execute them, it's why bother with this mechanic in the first place? It's bloat. Yes, it can be more fun, yes it can be skillfull to do, yes it gives the player something extra to do besides just blocking, but that still doesn't answer the original question.
