The only thing we have from an objective overview of the situation is an observation from Carmen, Dante, Moses and Vergilius' thoughts.I also feel some uncomfortableness, mostly from uptie stories where Carmen is blatantly speaking. I think it comes from whose PoV is making the observation/talking. Carmen and Meursault see the world in a very unusual way while someone like Dante have enough common sense to make observations as natural as an average guy would naturally lead them to.
