Sporebugs are trivialized when you take max fire. Napalm barrage, fire nades, cremator, and the lumberer. Explosives and ballistics are asking for a bad time. Laser weapons can work too if the fire DOT damage is the killing damage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you were to shoot dropship thrusters before the dropships manage to get into position to drop their passengers, the passengers on board do not get released, and when the dropship crashes... most, if not all, would die—even a factory strider or a vox. Why would one le be adversed against shoot dropship thrusters if they get the chance?

>>580142626Because they sometimes just don't die, and they aren't coded to be blocked by the wreckage. So you end up with full health bots clipping through the dropship wreck making them impossible to hit while they have free reign to shoot at you.Vox and striders are exceptions because they're superheavy targets that a hard-coded to die when their dropship goes down.
>>580142626There is more nuance to this:If you want a guaranteed way to kill every passanger in a dropship, you must destroy the center of the dropship BEFORE they start dropping. This kills even vox instantly.Practically only possible with the SPEAR since it targets that area and has damage to one-shot it. RR can not do it.Next, comes RR.If you shoot the thruster BEFORE it starts its slowdown animation (aka the red pulse from a thruster), then you can also kill every passenger inside.However, in practice, this is not possible because dropships in this state moves at 200-300 meters per second and even most skilled RRfags will have difficulty predicting where to shoot at such a fast object and its mostly guesswork.Next, once the pulse from the thruster comes, shooting the thruster just kills the dropship, and enemies inside get yeeted to the ground.This kills 90% of the chaff and barely wounds heavies. Vox and striders survive this.Now you got a battlefield littered with dropships that enemies can shoot and walk through, but helldivers can't shoot and can't walk through.95% RRfags shoot the thruster after red pulse happens so they are mostly wasting rockets that they could have kept for actual heavies.

>>580140980The only things you really need are1. A way to quickly kill Spore Titans, Recoilless is the best for this and it's the default AT option.2. Fire weaponry/stratagems to kill bugs without them releasing meth, Eagle Napalm and Laser Dog are excellent at this and are part of default availability.That's basically it. Beyond that, you just need options for closing lots of bug holes and something for Chargers.>>580143207The Cremator has increased range and increased damage. This allows you to kill enemies from farther away, which results in much safer situations for you and your team. The farther away they are, the less likely they are to swarm and surround you, and the more options you have to displace in case shit hits the fan. The higher damage output also allows it to actually kill heavies in a timely manner.

The Melta we have right now has its own niche and is a lot stronger than a shotgun.That being said, a hand-carried Breakthrough shotgun would be excellent as a support weapon. Just a fuckhuge AP5 scattergun that blows away anything standing in front of you.
