Why am I getting random stutters on pcsx2? It wasn't like that when I last used it years ago. It's impossible to enjoy some Guitar Hero like this.
>>580026661the project was taken over by trannies, and it has only gotten worse over the last few years
>>580026661Because you aren't using the Reliquary build ;)
>>580027203The what now?>>580027159Well, fuck. What about the Retroarch core, broken as well?
>>580027324>The what now? It's this heavily revamped PCSX2 standalone fork that implements features the main PCSX2 team never bothered to implement.
>>580027203>>580027398This? I will give it a try. My hardware is pretty decent but even without touching anything it's stuttering, on fucking GH3.https://github.com/DiscoStarslayer/pcsx2-reliquary
>>580027468Yep, that's the one! RA also supposedly added some of standalone's features back into LRPS2 with some improved PGS performance, so it's worth a try if Reliquary gives you any trouble.
>No website has live links to Ciel Nosurge, most only have American releases>Nopay only has an outdated version of the base game, none of the DLCs or updates>Cdromance has a prepatch (I want the japanese raw and don't want to join that forum anyway)Finding Japanese Vita games is a bitch.
>>580027582it's not on minerva?
>>580027159That would explain a lot, actually.
>>580027729Dead torrents.
>>5800284385kb/s is better than no kb/s, though lol
Having tested the last update of Reliquary, I can confirm my speed limiter bug is gone. Now it boot at 100% like he was supposed to. Nice.
>>580026661You should probably use YARG for Guitar Hero instead, but the new shader stutters are shameful, yes.
>>580029639All these GH clones suck desu, I just wanted to play classic GH3. But yeah, even with >>580027468 it still stutters, I guess I'll try the PC version or finally with GHWT Definitive Ed a go. Anyway, what's the deal with these stutters? I remember PCSX2 was stutter free, that was a Dolphin thing lol
>>580030289Apparently some people are just now starting to work on ubershader support for PCSX2, but that hasn't been finished yet AFAIK.
>>580030289Do they? How? You'll find a lot less latency in YARG and a lot of the venue experience is emulated too. I don't think you've been paying enough attention.
>>580030289btw what's the last version without these issues in case I get lazy>>580030352I remember that Dolphin got that, but why PCSX2 needs it now lolI used to run this on a 750Ti + 2500k back in the day
>>580030418A lot about PCSX2 has changed since the 1.6.0 days, mainly from Stenzek and Refraction. It's more akin to Duckstation these days,.
>>580030412I just don't care anon, they are all kind of jank and the spectacle aspect is never the same. I don't want to thinker either, just play good old GH.Looked up anyway and the graphics look like Life is Strange lmao no thanks>>5800304761.6.0 was before the ugly Qt interface? Hated when they put that in Dolphin as well. What are these fags even doing that PS2 emulation is bad now? Accuracy memes or just jeet coding?
>>580030803Technically the accuracy memes are all on Reliquary, but mainline PCSX2 is more like a bunch of rough GDsx hacks and some small UI changes.
1.6.0 doesn't stutter, I guess I'm just using this one. Thanks anons
>>580031072Why the fuck would you do that to yourself. This paranoia over shader compilation is retarded.
>>580031151What paranoia, faggot?I'm trying to play GH3 and it was stuttering every 10s or so despite being on default settings, literally unplayable. At least this shit works.
>>580030803>What are these fags even doing that PS2 emulation is bad now? Accuracy memes or just jeet coding?you tell me
>>580030803Ignoring everyone's political whining, modern PCSX2's issue is indeed accuracy autism. They've put accuracy over performance, compatibility, and even usability. Which has caused a big uproar especially among people with potato PCs.
>>580031786Well, these 0.1% lows obviously don't translate to my machine, or at least not to GH3. Or do you mean the tranny colors? lol
>>580031963Anon wants you to get upset at the colors and not read.
>>580032000Well, these "gains" don't affect me, unless they I need something better than a 5800X3D now for fucking PS2. Are these tranny devs new or something, their discord also seem to have tranny colors lmao
>>580032276anyway, some guy there is saying that 2.6.3 has no stutters
>>580032276Not really new but one of the old guys left so they're more in charge than before. Like I said here >>580031945 the actual issue isn't them being stupid/incompetent or putting politics into shit, as far as user experience goes the issue is that they've gotten into that really autistic accuracy obsession over anything else.
>>580032276funny you mention that, since they raised the requirements recently and rolled back after some cry out from the community, of course that didn't change shit about the awful performance>>580032431then where is parallel-gs?they haven't gone autistic over shit, the are just retarded trannies and are pissing on pcsx2's legacy
Why did Phillips think it was a good idea to stick a time-bombed SRAM battery so deep into a chip that it has to be sawed off?
Does pcsx2-reliquary work with .m3u files?
>>580035573whatIf you mean old cartridges, they just didn't care. Why would they bother if the product they sold you would break 10 years from now?
>>580036453These aren't bog-standard cartridges, but rather a save battery embedded within every CD-i unit itself. At best, games won't save properly. At worst, the entire console will remain non-functional.
>>580036540I had no idea you were talking about the CD-iWhat is this shit, who had the bright idea of encapsulating a battery? lmao
>>580036824I'm guessing the logic was that because it was a multimedia device that took CDs, they needed some universal way to save games. What Phillips wasn't counting on was the rise of memory cards.
Is it just me, or is RetroAchievements a total waste of time? The other day, during an internet outage, I played some Neo Geo and had way more fun simply enjoying the moment instead of constantly checking if I might miss a missable achievement or some other nonsense.I mean, PSN trophies and Xbox achievements have a mainstream social appeal (you might notice if a friend has beaten or is playing a game you enjoyed, so you can chat about it together, or join them in multiplayer with the excuse of going after a specific trophy or achievement.), but RA? Nobody really cares.
>>580037048Well that still doesn't explain packaging it, I'm an EE fag and I've literally never seen that. I don't see why not just use a battery socket like everyone else.
>>580037172It's for kids who grew up with this mentality
>>580037294It's likely the most boring answer, which was that Phillips didn't want people repairing CD-is on ttheir own at all.
>>580027582Why do you even want the raw JP, if you won't be able to get the voicemails or link the game to Ar nosurge with the servers dead? And NPS does have the full DLC set and updates.
>>580037508I found out. It's even more boring. They just got an off-the-shelf IC that had everything they needed. Just mount it on the board and forget about having to design a whole circuit. Also >>580036453https://www.st.com/en/clocks-and-timers/m48t08.html
>>580038000That explains why the CDi felt severely out of date compared to its eventual 5th gen competition.
>>580038101what
>>580038443Poor wording on my part, so they basically used a chip that already came with an SRAM battery forced into it? Certainly wasn't doing Phillips any favors trying desperately to keep this thing alive once the 5th gen rolled out. While I was looking stuff up, I had no idea this was technically a 1990 machine. I guess that also explains the weird-ass M68K variant it uses.
>>580037172>Is it just me, or is RetroAchievements a total waste of time?yes
>>580038825They never meant to compete with other consoles, it was just a interactive multimedia platform, games being one kind of interactive media. The idea basically ended up surviving in the the DVD format, and DVD players could do a lot of what the CD-i tried to.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMo8LZCXOcg
>>580039563Yeah, I tried some interactive DVC things out during testing and thought it was really cool they were implementing menus around 3-6 years before DVD actually came out. Unfortunate that VCD never really took off, but at least thirdies get to enjoy the format LOL.
>>580037748NPS is actually missing two DLCs. After a lot of research though I figured out it's because whoever dumped the things mislabeled them so everyone downstream of that has lost them.
What's the recommended Switch emulator on Android? When I tried Eden on my SD8 Gen 2 phone it sucked big time, when I upgraded to a Gen 3 in December nothing changed (I tried a bunch of custom drivers for both and all of them were worse than the stock/Qualcomm ones)
>>580031786>the pcsx2 "devs" went from doing absolutely fucking nothing for a decade to making the entire brand about troonshit and jeetcodewhat a way to go
>>580032276>I need something better than a 5800X3D now for fucking PS2anon they wanted you to have a 3770K for fucking PS2 back in 2012 and were telling people with 3570Ks that they had low end CPUs

>>580037172Even if it wasn't, you shouldn't chase shit like this unless you've already beaten the game once. It's the same obsessive mentality of people who overthink trying to 100% things the first playthrough as well.

>>580037294>I'm an EE fag and I've literally never seen thatdont lie, Dallas RTCs were pretty common on PCs
>>580049107I literally just got my first PC rig around 2022, you mean to tell me they pulled that shit on PCs back then too? What the FUCK!?
>>580049264you're not allowed to say "ive never seen that" about someting released 35 years ago if you started using it on Biden era.Yes, Dallas RTCs were everywhere. The batteries are not easily replacable, but you should at least appreciate them for the fact that they dont leak. Wait until you hear about VARTA.
>>580050185>if you started using it on Biden era.I was in a MUCH worse situation for years. For the longest time, I relied primarily on laptops with Intelaviv iGPUs. Most of them were disgustingly Win7 hand-me-downs.But hey, it's a good thing those Dallas RTCs didn't leak like the CD-i ones do. VARTA sounds like hell, and I'd love to know how bad battery leaks can truly get.

Has anyone ever tried something wild on PadForge, like emulating a steering wheel using the DualShock 4 gyro?
>>580062309Interesting. I have made my own kbm+mouse to joystick python script. On windows I was using vigem driver, linux is just evdev directly.I'm sure it could pretty straightfoward in this case.
>>580062309No but but I'd like to try if padforge has steam input's gyro to joystick deflection mode.
>>580062309MIDI keyboard knobs as potentiometer paddles (set start and stop from left to right, not free spinning), this allows for absolute paddle control in early 80s games that used this. This is done by binding those knobs as a fake xinput controller's X axis. Hydro Thunder's throttle with a flight throttle and a joystick for steering, bound to a single dinput gamepad; the game itself doesn't allow for two pads to do this. I nigger-rig gyro aiming into games all the time, but it's always a bit of a chore because every game's sensitivity and deadzone is different. It would be nice if games didn't freak out when you use mouse and xinput at the same time, but most of them do. It's always better to bind gyro to mouse, when possible, and you couuulllld just emulate kb+m with a controller, but then you lose analog movement.
>>580069954>Hydro Thunder's throttle with a flight throttle and a joystick for steeringI have a shitty Hori RWA with no FFB. It seems I can forge the pedals to a DualShock 4, steer using the gyro, and control the throttle with the pedal. Interesting.
The PadForge program seems incredibly powerful, so I don’t think I need to use the Steam Input API with my Steam Controller V1.
>>580076049It's a wee bit jank, though. I've found certain bindings a little flaky, like I have to reapply them/restart it and it's hard to nail down exactly what's going on and while hifihedgehog's a very talented dev, he's an earplugging dismissive motherfucker to work with and wants you to start a discussion thread and make a federal case.
>>580056695Let me rephrase that,GOOD xbox emulator when?
>>580084630ever wondered why westshit console emulation is lagging behind?
>>580084630Xemu is that emulator, anon. Cxbx-Reloaded is the Play! of OG Xbox emulation.
>>580048125yeah I don't it's that, I'm already using bilinear and it's still a mess
>>580049107I'm just not that old
Welp, I can’t get my Steam Controller’s gyro to emulate a steering wheel. It ignores the controller’s position so I can’t turn, and it seems to use acceleration instead of the sixaxis: gyro roll, gyro roll lean X, motion gyro... it’s all the same. I’ve been battling with this for about an hour, and my cortisol levels are spiking.I changed the steering deadzones: lean inner is 5 and lean outer is 90, orientation is forward.I thought it would be simple to mimic Gran Turismo 7's gyro but this is a pain in the ass.I want to punch my wife in the throat. My controller's sensors work perfectly on Steam, and I have no idea why.
Have any prolific dev tried these multi-agent systems for emulation development? People are having quite a bit of success at decompilating stuff and porting games with them. I wonder if a single guy who knows his shit could revive something like Xemu
>>580086617>I wonder if a single guy who knows his shit could revive something like XemuI thought it WAS getting revived. Had a fuckton of updates earlier this year.
>>580086572I think the problem isn’t with PadForge but with the Steam Controller. That controller works in mysterious and autistic ways.
>>580087242>>580086572Try running this shit through Steam. Steam input is proprietary but it will enable all Steam Cucktroller's functions. Just add 'external game' to Steam.
Is this(plus newer snapdragon phones) the only decent option for running gamehub and switch 2 emulation? I really want something close to $250, but I keep seeing comments from people suggesting that the odin 3 is the only device that will give you good performance.
Finally, we get to experience DS games the way the devs would have wanted.
>>580090108It's going to get even "better" now that DS recomp tools exist.
>>580090108lookin' good

Why is twitter saying a PS5 emulator is running GTA 5 at full speed? That's bullshit, right?
>>580092896>That's bullshit, right?Yes, Astro Bot can't even reach in-game yet.

It's funny, official compilations of retro games work almost the same way as recomps. They're basically per-game hacks applied to their own emulators if Carbon Engine is anything to go by.
>>580094801This is starting to look a lot more legit. Astro Bot still doesn't reach in-game, so real progress is being made.
>>580093869that shit is just repackaged duckstation, getting tired of these "ports"

>>580096860>hardmodsAt this point I wouldn't mind at all, X360 had hardmods for the longest time.
>>580096438These new low effort slop recomps are essentially just that, emulator wrappers. But for some reason people think they are special.
>>580097158That being said, I haven't looked into GT2 specifically yet. But at this point I doubt it isn't just another slop recomp.
>>580097314it's PSXRecomp, so yeah it's slop recomp
>>580097797>PSXRecompSo the entire thing is made by a guy who had no idea about what he was doing at all and was just feeding emulator code to AI? lmaohttps://1379.tech/i-built-a-ps1-static-recompiler-with-no-prior-experience-and-claude-code/

>>580098848>Less notable to the user, but one important caveat, is "dirty RAM" is on element that isn't being statically recompiled yes. >>580100639I can't believe it was this shit on the actual Wii. It's one of the last things I can't get to work with motions. Sometimes when I fuck around long enough I can find a way to just barely move it in a way it works, but it takes like 5-15 minutes to get to that point. The minigame where you had to play at the bar was dogshit thanks to this.
>>580100313you play the switch port that has decent controlsSS is fucking cancer and waggle is 80% of it
>>580102113Switching to the switch port when I'm already 90% done sounds like a bad idea. I might try making a different configuration where the pointer emulation is rotated 90 degrees, since I guess by turning the controller 90 degrees to the left to play the harp the emulated pointer is now moving up and down when I swing left and right.
>>580104416oh yeah except that doesn't work since you'd have to switch the inputs for the actual gyro too
>>580100639It workeded.Sounds like shit when you just make quick swings instead of steadily playing the notes though.I wish I'd played this on the Wii so I knew how good or bad it was on it.

>>580057638>how very ego and fake. The narcissism is the point.
>>580093869Is there any reason to play an old racing sim, or an old sim of any kind outside of the off chance of the physics and vehicle simulation somehow being worse? What's the point? It's an artless genre.
>>580119394Gran Turismo isn't a racing sim where you only play quick races.
>>580119724Okay? Can you elaborate on how that justifies it compared to newer entries in the series or other modern vroomshit? Outside of maybe the menus and music being muh-childhood or whatever?
>>580123917It's a game. It has progression. It has specific characters (cars). It has its own gameplay, graphics and soundtrack.Your question is the same as asking why would you play SMB when NSMB or whatever exists. Again, Gran Turismo is not some realistic driving simulator like iRacing or rFactor, it's a simcade.
>>580124942No, it's not the same, because there's at least some art design and abstraction behind Super Mario Bros, and it's a unique game. It's not trying to be a simulation of a real life vehicle on real tracks, done on hardware that can hardly do it justice. It could just be that I find most retro racing games outside of Sega's really boring. Also those games also benefited from being more blatantly arcadey, as well as having the hardware to deliver graphics that held up. I dunno man GT1/2 just look like shit to me, even for the time. At least GT3's a looker.
[CONT] NSMB's also an artistic and mechanical step down from SMB in my opinion, and many others I'm sure. I don't think anyone feels that way about GT2 vs 3.
>>580084716Xemu is the play! of xbox emulation. Still active sometimes and still bad.Cxbx is DoubieStation. Abandoned for years
>>580126564Video games are about challenges, and there are very specific challenges in these games, even though they tried to look "realistic", like like an entire career mode, the license tests, custom courses, manufacturer challenges, etc.Something like rFactor doesn't, it's just a simulator, you open it and drive on a official circuit. There's no reason to play rFactor1 now that rFactor2 exists (other than mods and having a shit PC, that is). If you don't get that, you are either dumb or just being obtuse for no reason.>>580127156But people do feel that way about GT3 and GT4 vs GT5/6/7/Sport.
>>580127691I'll level with you on the GT sequel examples. I think my main gripe may just be that PS1 just couldn't do the thing it was trying to do.
>>580098848Why would a game "recompiled" to run natively on PC would need a ps1 bios?
>>580119394>>580126564what are you even talking about retard, GT2 isn't a simulator, it's a video gameGT never handled realistically compared to simulators of the time (still don't btw), they are games with game mechanics meant to be played with a controller, just because they don't have wacky ridge racer drifts doesn't mean they aren't games you baboon
>>580128483No, but it's going for something adjacent to realism and it the PS1 doesn't have the computational nuts to pull it off graphically or in the physics necessary. I don't like any 5th gen console racing game that isn't completely fantastical, really, because they just don't have the balls to do it. I think the first simcade of note was Metropolis Street Racer, and the genre generally became worth playing on 6th gen.
>>580128161Like what? It did exactly what they wanted to, with the tech they had. Same as GT3/GT4. The others are worse for a myriad of reasons, they aren't automatically better despite being more technically advanced.
Thought I'd show off some SAME_CDi DVC demos since I've only shown off a couple screenshots. I'm halfway through submitting this to libretro's upstream, but a few more boring bugs have to be ironed out before I can truly say the core has DVC support. I just grabbed the GR2fork of Shadps4 and got Gravity Rush Remastered and Gravity Rush 2 set up. Remastered runs like a dream but GR2 requires me to run it by dragging the eboot.bin on to shadps4gr2fork.exe (or running the shortcut I made to do that for me)*** I wanna ask about this, but for now... MY QUESTION: the GR2fork developer I guess implemented Gravity Rush and Gravity Rush 2's network functionality. Does anyone know anything about this and shadnet in general? I registered for shadnet and have my credentials, but what do I need to set under "HTTP Host Override (restoration server)"? By default it just says localhost but the dev's own tutorial video suggested it's an actual value that needs entered. Is it not on wider Shadnet? I need to get it from his discord or some shit?***Apparently it's because my old fucking CPU(haswell i7-4790k)/old ass ram (DDR3) can't handle the startup video processing which Shadps4 would normally barrel through, ignoring warnings/hitches? But with this method it bypasses whatever issue that is. In the regular branch of Shad I could easily *start* the game without it crashing from the GUI/launcher, it would crash after in the cinematic gameplay segment presumably from load. So in this I can't use the launcher, but it runs well with the drag&drop/target shortcut.P.S. I'm also experiencing deadzone drift on my controller in GR2 that I didn't in GRR. Do I just up min-deadzone by ticks until it stops? or what

>>580306882Let's see what Claude actually think about that.>TEV has up to 16 stages with more combine modes than classic fixed-function OpenGL/D3D exposes. To replicate it with legacy fixed-function texture units you'd need multiple render passes per polygon (rendering the same triangle several times, blending results), which is both slower and harder to get bit-exact than just writing a shader that directly implements the combiner logic. This is exactly why Dolphin and PCSX2 use shaders on modern GPUs to emulate old fixed-function hardware — not because the original hardware had shaders, but because shaders are the most practical way to reproduce complex fixed-function behavior efficiently and accurately.

>>580427807why do so many of you get off to abusing females and posting children
>>580434303The real question with darker implications is why do most women like it? I've dated multiple women who've romanticized Lolita too.
>>580432984You don't need that shit. But still if it doesn't work you might still have something wrong with the system. If you're dual booting linux then I think it's normal and you should definitely keep it off. You might just have a faulty tpm or something you installed doesn't like it, or you might have installed windows on classic bios instead of UEFI bios.
Switch 2 is never happening because only Nintendo out of all them are the only ones that neurotically wants it to never happen again no matter what
>>580434303>abusing femalesWhy did you never comment on violence against males?Women see shit like vidrelated and say to themselves "I must vote to let more people like that into the country," so why not have it in video games?>posting childrenProjecting much? I don't post children.
>>580434793>You might just have a faulty tpm or something you installed doesn't like it, or you might have installed windows on classic bios instead of UEFI biosI have TPM 2.0, but I can’t remember why I disabled all of that in the BIOS. I installed Windows using UEFI, and I’m not running a dual boot setup. Thanks for the heads up, emubro.
>>580435559I do comment on violence against males you assuming twat. it just wasnt mentioned here as the video was over a female being abused. how pathetically obvious of you to try to flip this and put me on defense. cry moar abuser I detest both being done.>>580434756sadly I noticed that in life too much. too many females ive dated are all spank me more, choke me harder, fuck my ass. still isnt changing or invalidating too many here get off on abuse or children

Looking up some more CD-i longplays, and someone managed to find yet another anomaly with a game on real hardware. Creature Shock has a tendency to softlock even on real hardware.https://youtu.be/tQhm_2z7Og4?t=1240
What the fuck, the DOS version of Creature Shock is BETTER!? It's not only got on-rails shooting segments, but there's music too! CD-i removed the on-rails segments.
>>580455867it has unlocked fps which should be the bare minimum requirement for a recomp to count as one I think
>>580493003Not sure if PSX recomps got the same treatment. A lot of them from what I seen seemed to be Duckstation wrappers.

Ryujinb or Citron Neo?I like the UI, how it auto detects updates and how you can download mods directly in the emu but for some reason mario odyssey randomly just hangsRyujinb doesnt have that fancy stuff but so far i havent had any problems with any game.Thoughts?
>>580460978Do you have a Sinden or are you playing in VR?
>>580497613Ryubing is tranny so that automatically makes me ignore it over even the last real build of RyujinxCitron always had the best performances for me but I don't play bing wahoo, I think it just works better for more niche games.Just finish mario on any of them where it works?
What's better for nes emulation? mesen or ares?
>>580497897What do you mean rybing is tranny? huh? Also, i dont particularly play bing bing wahoo games either but i never played any mario after 64 so i wanted to give odyssey a try, asking for help in their discord is fucking aids too because they want you to follow an autistically long set of instructions to generate crash logs (instead of having it being a functionality of the emulator)

>>580508598Either a stunt or the guy never had it and it was just play test footage. The old leaks from ~2022 were internal bug reports from Rockstar India, some dev got RAT'ed.But it's hard to believe it's a stunt since it was a legit crypto scam.

>>580439941>Intel(R) UHD GraphicsYou're screwed
>>580497163Why does a supposed hardware device, that isn't an emulator at all (that's what they reckon), require constant software updates? You'd think if it was hardware, and not emulation (like they claim), you could just buy the thing and it would just work.
>>580498580kys, waifu avatar
>>580553191It's emulation for sure. I don't think it was claimed otherwise but you can point me to that if they did. Maybe some rebbitors or /vr/tards tried to say otherwise, misunderstanding the product. It's programmable hardware, and prone to both errors and improvements by the devs, hence the updates. Also, the part that fucked up for me was the OS, not the cores in this case.
>>580552871Is there any problem with my laptop having integrated Intel(R) UHD Graphics?
