At the same time, people are being dishonest when they say DBS Broly and Daima look better than post WCI One Piece. It doesn't because of the point I mentioned before. I wouldn't even be surprised if the animators actively dulled the animation as to not upstage OP.

I think Dragon Ball's animation at its peak is Kubota's cut in Super Hero. With the newer Dokkan animations being a close second. Have Moro look like that and everything's fine.

My first thought was that the story should give them two androids to absorb, or have it be like 13 and give them robots. But then I realized it would have to be permanent that way

So my next thought is that Capsule Corp or whoever their creator is should give them absorption pills or something. They take them and it temporarily boosts their strength and appearance, temporarily because if you do it too long it overloads your system. The first two forms anyway. As far as the third form goes, my idea is that after a certain point in the story, whoever creates you reveals that they've been tracking your progress with those bugs that Gero used to use and can use it to boost your power, but because it's too much for your body you have to hold it in a third form. And Super Perfect being the final form would be cool. I think that should also be a race-specific plot in the storymode. The bio android cac "dies" maybe through a heroic self destruct, and then comes back like Cell did.

It's a bit of a question of if it's a complete genderflip or if it's only select characters. Like if you have a girl Vegeta while everyone else is the same I feel like things would be noticeably different. Not that there would be overall less popularity, but conversations about Vegeta would differ among the fanbase, some for the better, some for the worse, and there'd probably be more vocal shipping wars about Vegeta getting together with Goku among the western fanbase (as opposed to it being a primarily fujo thing).

I used to theorize they didn't do so to not step on Toriyama's toes just in case he did come up with a SS design for her, under the logic that Xeno Pan only debuted after DBS started, but even before the whole Xeno business started, they still gave Trunks SS3 before DBS started, and came up with adult Gotenks before Toriyama did, so it's probably because of how she's treated in GT and nothing else.

I actually do think people would dislike present Trunks, at least the Buu saga version, mildly more if said Trunks were a girl. Not "hate" exactly, but there would be those that find that Trunks to be slightly more annoying even if the character traits were exactly the same. Goten isn't as notable a character so there wouldn't be as much an outcry; some might grumble more about Girl Goten being a "Mary Sue" because of getting Super Saiyan so easily but that wouldn't really be enough to negate the general sense of apathy towards Goten. Gotenks I could say some might find "more" annoying (I could see some being harsher on the decision to not use SS3 for example) but I could also see some actually liking more than Trunks and Goten individually as there's more going on there.

Super might change things slightly, as some of the bratty or jealous behavior wouldn't be seen "as" negatively in Trunks and there would be something resembling an arc. If we account for the pre-Superhero stuff in the DBS manga, a female present Trunks would read more as a shy nerd that some might find more endearing. Goten is consistently more active in Super even if it's relegated to more inconsequential stuff, and I could see that actually being seen as a bit more positive. Again if we account for the DBS manga, I think a girl Goten would read positively too for being more casually confident and chill than Trunks, a bit of a "Stacy" in other words (which might even extend to the GT equivalent).

GT Trunks I could actually find seen as even more of a wet blanket by the fanbase though, the "no fun mom" to Goku and Pan's general antics. It's not full hatred but still enough to make them wish someone else had gone on the trip.

I'm still of mind to believe Rom's race is going to be playable after story mode, think about it, she's the only demon we've seen thus far in trailers and in builds, she has a mysterious power different from anything we'eve seen before and she's freely using that power while our saiyan friend and our human friend stay in their base form and it's clear tap has the great ape transformation there's no other reason to hide the player character cutting off great ape Vegeta's tail unless they're not ready to reveal how the time travel part of the story yet.

Speaking of that, the fortune telling gyaru makes me curious, why mention her in officel blurbs and show her tent, then Ginyu and not the character themselves, maybe she's a demon too, the open showcasing of Daima alongside Super makes me think this thing is going to be full of OG, Z, Super and Daima material but all GT material is post game ust like xenoverse 1, I'm even more curious how much empthasis they put on every race having equal transformations and most of all how you can go around in your work uniform or whatever other drip you want

In general he has to actively steal it though, as he always points his arm towards the character to steal. There was pic related where it seemed he was passively stealing, but Vegeta had just thrown him in the water so he likely actively stole energy while out of sight.

That's weird, could swear he stole energy while flying at some point but he's always in solid ground. Doubt that's a specific limitation though, as techniques that can be used on the ground can be used on the air.

Video games typically don't make Buu as impossible to kill as he is in the manga either, as he gets normal HP. There is no game SEGA could've made on the Saturn that would've done Sonic justice. The Saturn simply did not have the horsepower to translate Sonic's particular gameplay into 3D in a satisfying way. Sonic skipping fifth gen was unironically the best course of action.

I've thought that what they should've done was instead shift focus to Alex Kidd, their Master System mascot, for that generation. Mary Sue itself is a term that originates from actual Star Trek fanzine fanfiction back in 1974, with the character in question being a parody of a specific character type that fanfics of the time tended to include, relying on familiarity with certain fanfic tropes (the character being the self-insert OC for a female writer, hence the name). Over time the term has evolved and shifted to include different fanfiction tropes and narrative trends. Trying to legitimately call Trunks to be one doesn't really work, it's trying too hard to retroactively apply a more modern variation on the term while ignoring the actual story presence and use of him as a narrative tool in the story of Dragon Ball.

When Trunks arrives, yes he is shown to be another Super Saiyan who effortlessly defeats Freeza and Cold with a cool sword, but it's meant to build a sense of mystery, one that's answered quickly and shifted onto him being a new thing for Goku to measure against. His ability to easily slice Freeza to bits is contrasted with Goku blocking his sword with one finger, showing that for as strong as this new character is, he's no match for Goku as he is now. This emphasizes the reveal of the Androids and the danger they present (they killed everyone else can kick this guy's ass, and he killed Freeza without breaking a sweat) and why he was sent back to the past to save Goku from the Heart Virus (Goku is already way stronger than him, maybe they can save the future if Goku lives). The reveal of him being Bulma and Vegeta's kid is not really something that should be removed from its context either; Dragon Ball has never been a series that put much emphasis on romance in the first place, and Bulma and Vegeta are an easy way to have a character like him come into being.

Trunks really isn't much of a Mary Sue or Gary Stu or even a Wesley Crusher when looked at in full context, because being any of those needs a character to be viewed within series and narrative context.

Trunks is anything but a Mary Sue. I'm actually very surprised how consistent Toriyama was when writing him. He continually kept shitting on Trunks since his debut.

He shows up and kills Freeza, then he warns Goku about the Androids but it turns out that he's wrong about his premonitions. Then he gets his ass beat by 17 and 18, and concludes they're stronger than their future selves because he could "at least put up a fight with them." But as we learn in the Trunks manga special, the only reason he could even put up a fight with them is because the future Androids were toying with Trunks and Gohan, and they didn't even use half their power. This is an info Gohan took with him to his grave making Trunks an unreliable narrator.

Then against Cell, Trunks started to act cocky which is so unlike him because he assumed he surpassed Vegeta with that USSJ form but as we learn from Cell (and Goku) that form is nothing special and anyone can do it, even Vegeta knows it and he intentionally let Trunks do bad training to make an example out of him. So Trunks is not only an unreliable narrator, he's also an idiot with 0 fighting experience (to be fair, it's not really his fault).

Unless this is autism about the whole Jiren and Broly stuff in how actually no one's really getting stronger and instead just making their Ki use more efficient. But even then switching power levels for efficiency levels doesn't actually mean much in practice it's just another number that signifies power.

Yeah I'm not buying the game until we get a demon race. I'm very pissed off that they added Androids but not Demons, the fact that Rom even has what looks like an original demon form is literally just them pissing in our eye. If I had a preorder I would have cancelled it on the spot upon learning, doubly so since it isn't even in the plans for DLC.

It makes me sad too because I usually don't do roleplay shit but I already had my own backstory planned out for a potential demon/glind race.

It works yes. Beginner one can be done pretty quickly. I'd advice to wait about 5 minutes before ending a match because players typically use CPU battles to do missions, and 5 minutes is enough for most of them. Specially since "Defeat 2 bosses" shows with some frequency.
