Finally got the urge to play some Forza again and my wheel crapped out on me(well, technically, the pedals died but it's a cheap combo wheel so I have to replace the whole thing).Spent like 4 hours trying to solder one of the wires back to the capacitor that controls pedal movement but I couldn't get it to work, voltage randomly spikes every few seconds which makes the controller report full pedal movement.I'm thinking of either getting the Thrustmaster GTB 296 wheel for 100 eurobucks or finally upgrading to a Logitech G29 for 230. The G29 is a much nicer wheel and it does come with 3 pedals but 230 eurobucks is a lot of money for a toy.Do any of you lads have experience with these things? Could this realistically last 10 years of heavy use? I've heard great things about the G27 and if I'm going to be using this thing for at least a decade I'm willing to drop 130 extra on a nicer product.

Now that I've got a wheel that has actual force feedback I can confidently say that Forza's FFB is fucking ass. If you want the optimal turning angle you have to crank the wheel 10-20% more after the FFB gets super heavy(which would indicate understeer). It might be optimal to just disable FFB entirely and drive based purely on visual feedback.

Which means you auto lose 75-80% of the time whereas more power focused tuning can always put up a fight.There are exceptions to this, mainly Touge which usually leans more towards handling due to how limited the track selection is and how those tracks start closer to handling sections due to a 2 car grid and less props.

The livery ID is still bound to whoever created it and I'm sure the report system uses that if you instead use the "remove and report livery" function instead of directly reporting the player.You'd have to basically unlock and steal the livery so it's under your name instead if you wanna make sure but then you'd take the fall if someone reports you online and what not.

Also don't rely too much on the in-game stats. 0-100 matters at the start but it's not the most important thing and you're mostly limited by traction, not power. You want to maximise acceleration from ~60-200~ since that's the range you'll spend most of your time in. Most tracks in this game are composed of slow corners and medium length straights so even if your car's handling is a bit meh you'll lose out a bit of speed on exit but immediately gain that time back by just blasting down the straight.
