You get the MC yelling at everyone about thing that is about to happen, which is sooo cool because they know what will happen but everyone else doesn't, you get the jaded and tired looper MC who has looped so many times already, and the part of the story where they're about to give up but then they don't, and then the perfect loop to fix the story.It's possible to make a good time loop story but it needs to break this in some meaningful way. You can create the story from the perspective of someone who is not the looper. You can make the time loop one component of a larger story, instead of being the entire story. Or you can have time looping not be enough to fix the big problem in the story. Shit like this has all been done before and it doesn't make the loop story amazing but it makes it much much better.

There's a lot to discuss but at the same time there's so little known about her that it's a topic to thread carefully. The only people who know about Memory Girl because Toru had told them about her are Chiyo, Yuzuha and Not Johnny. Her current whereabouts are unknown and we don't know if she's even dead or alive. Furthermore, the only times she has "appeared" before Toru is due to the experiences he has been sharing with the girls since he woke up, those that provoke him a sense of Deja Vu which triggers fragments of the memories he lost about her, so far things like going to Cinema or cuddling with Yoshie, spending time with Chiyo, or going through a crowd with Momoe have been the trigger of his missing memories. However, Toru has stated that even if she was a really important person for the "Old him", he would rather focus on the present rather than start chasing her ghost, and that he thinks that's what she would have wanted for him.

If I had to give a number I might put sol at like 70 / 100 while Astra is like 80 / 100. Sol more often gets caught up in Japanese grammar/phrasing and produces text easier to nitpick whereas Astra is more often wholly fluent. This is just my impressions after some testing though, it probably varies.

But the identity of who is doing any AI patch doesn't matter. It's so trivial and involves so little personal work that it always may as well be anyone. And the UI of the config screen doesn't matter to me so I don't care about how it looks. If the AI didn't spit anything out then I would just have left it untranslated. For my purpose I only really care about the script. As I implied, it's hard to really care about an MTL patch when in 1-2 years AI will (at this rate) have advanced to a point of btfoing any previous patches and any joe schmoe could instantly do a better job. I'll do like a little QOL just to not make it a totally terrible patch, but not that much.

It's not that technology is not gonna get better, it's that it's stupid to say that people shouldn't bother when in 1-2 years it will get better. It's already 90% of the way there now, which can go up 95% with a simple editing pass. And up to with another pass. There's no sense to keep making patches for the same games for every new model that comes out.

I do think people releasing MTLs right now should do the bare minimum to make the patches overall smooth and enjoyable experiences rather than broken messes, but I don't see the point in perfectionism beyond that. I think in timescales of decades, not years. Why be perfectionist for a patch that can be recreated and done better in a few years by literally any human being on earth?
