It's a chinese/japanese mythlogical item that shows you the nature of demons, which is likely going to be relevant to the overall plot. I don't know why the japanese significance of it is not translated considering they kept Yomotsu Hirasaka the exact same in P4.Another anon also already explained Bloodstruck and "血盟" with "血盟" literally meaning Blood Oath. Coupled with the Dracula velvet room attendant, it's possible that the way you summon a persona in P6 or whatever links your party has some pseudo vampiric roots to it.Everything else seems mostly the same as the japanese.

The game never shows or even implies a single call, visit or check in from them during the entire year, including when he literally becomes a fugitive. There isn't even a throwaway line from Sojiro like "Your parents called. They're worried about you" that's not really the same as Joker doing everyday stuff like taking a shower or doing his homework off screen. Those are mundane activities the game has no reason to show his parents being completely absent for an entire year, even during a major crisis, is the writing treating them as complete non-factors and the natural consequence is that they come across as uncaring assholes

The protagonist parents aren't supposed to be a factor in modern Persona games so any interaction with them can be implied off screen. There's even a convo with Sojiro in which he called Ren's parents.. I just don't think this stuff is supposed to be front and center. I agree that it makes it look like Ren's parents are uncaring assholes, but what it "looks" like isn't reality.
