MK3 translation complete. 4~ days on fucking Plus Free Trial; it would have been 20~ hours on a Pro account without 5 hour limits. Cost me zero dollars. Script looks good from my reading, no editing or QC pass done yet.MTL has always been fast, but it really is sobering to see such a high quality translation come out 100x faster than any human. This is the invisible element. Let's say I decided right now to give MK3 a human translation. I could do it. But it would, at best, take me 1 year. And that means even with the best intentions there would be a 1 year gap of no translation. So why wouldn't someone MTL it? Why wait 1+ years (with no guarantee of it actually coming out) when you can get a pretty good script in 1 to 4 days? Why wouldn't *I* MTL it and say read this MTL while waiting for me to finish the human TL, with people choosing to wait if they want or not to wait if they didn't want to? It's almost irresponsible to not produce MTLs so people can read ASAP. The time thing really is just so staggering. Its absolutely insane how much weekly pro plan usage Schwarzesmarken has eaten (although I did spend some usage making a patch that fixed freezing issues on Gekkou no Carnevale that were listed in GHS readme. I now fully understand why the original MLA translation team said fuck this and left images untranslated and just had a text document for the player to read from during speeches that had no text or cues in the script files for. Codex got a prototype subtitle insertion method working thankfully, its a bit inelegant but its better than just providing a text document with the translation. I've spent the last 18 hours play testing, I need sleep. I hope I can get out a fully play tested patch of even the first game before my month pro subscription is up.
