If the gear was at least hard to obtain, like you had to do some fucking raid like in WoW to obtain better and better gear that'd be fine, but it's not. In Endfield you just craft the gear which takes zero effort or time once the factory is set up and on auto (which takes only a few hours, if you aren't using blueprints).Even artificing said gear takes no effort, just spend your stock bills (which you just accumulate from selling stuff your factory makes while you sleep) and buy the artificing items and you have your gear fully maxxed out within a day. At least with other games, with stats being perpetually RNG, even after you finish building your character there is always the sense they can get stronger. It's a necessary treadmill to keep people engaged with a liveservice game longterm, the shit you guys praise is the kind of shit that works in an onfline one-and-done game not a liveservice game. Eventually, after the games brutal falloff (much like Endfield) to the point of near death, the rise of private vanilla private servers, popularity of Classic WoW, Blizzard realized that all that shit the casuals wanted removed were core aspects of the game even if they were inconvenient, so they started adding them back and the game slowly recovered. Hypergryph needs to learn that same lesson it seems.
If anyone really considers artifacts better I pity them... especially when the builds are so rigid and set in stone that you need months of resources to get.
