If you half ass it you basically have to forbid yourself from ever touching that unit ever again to improve it.For example, if you only want 4 ele and 4 attack with passable percentage values and you roll everything to get there, if you ever decide to make them all black values or add another substat, you've already wasted rocks from all the locking and rerolling while locked.
