Yeah, I'm bit burned out but I'm waiting for that one anon who promised to host a vanilla+ slopless aero-terratonic-serb similar to Pathserb. Hopefully he's still with us.

It's the 9/11 memorial on Pathserb, It was in the middle of being erected when I took this screenshot.

Timely, we could do it so much better with Aero planes now. Is there any vulnerable looking towers on japserb that could do with a little 9/11-ing?
>>
>>580505452
That could be funny, there's the CIA tower but a dedicated memorial (Fully physics building) could be funny to ram a plane into and have it crumble.

how broken is this (as in bugs and loot) im waiting for the remaining addons to update to 1.8 and this looks fun and way better than archeology

>>580511292
The loot pool just works, you get copper, coal, redstone dust, diamonds, netherite scrap and blocks, there's a slight bug where sometimes it wont let you mine the spots but it's not a consistant issuue, i havent even dug too diamond level and already have 5 diamonds.

Asians have always had this mindset of "let me stack a billion blocks in creative mode until either the engine gives up and dies or I get my 1000ft tall kaiju".
Reminds me of the guy who build an enormous articulated humanoid in Space Engineers of all things, ran the game at 0.5fps but still demonstrated it working.
>>
>>580520596
Wait, this guy was asian? I thought he was just a nerd and I hate nerds more than I hate MAD agents.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn2-d5a3r94
>>
>>580521619
can't watch the video right now, is that articulated machinery or just a static sculpture? I'm specifically talking about machinery and shit, the kind of stuff that everybody else would assume will lag the game to hell but asians just go "I will place 100000 joint blocks and I don't care if the engine runs at 0fps and it's not playable, I will have my giant kaiju".

I think I don't like ore generators.
>just don't use them
Some packs seem to be designed with those in mind and the ones that aren't are just kitchen sink packs. I kinda like this idea anon mentioned >>580328120
>>
>>580532625
It's not my first time, but yeah, I thought of getting the trainers mod, but with everything needing to be updated, I thought it best to leave the cobble extensions alone for a bit. Still got pokenav and the guidebook, tho, need to figure out how to get my hands on a revive.
>>
best backups mod? preferably one that can ignore certain dimensions
>>
>>580533675
Might as well install a few iron golems; I produce more iron than I can use, so I might as well make iron golems.
>>
>>580533379
>ore generators
Do you mean resource printers, machines that don’t mar the earth like BC quarries but give you ores out of thin air? Or do you mean vanilla style ore generation spamming your world with tiny pockets of 50 different ores?

>>580534291
Cron rsync bash script
>>
>>580495862
What mod?
>>
>>580538681
Yeah I mean resource farms like how with create you can just set a cobble generator and crush that into iron nuggets.
>>
>>580540408
The thing with most expert packs is that resource generators are pretty much the base of progression, the assumption that you make farms for all the raw resources is what allows them to have incredibly long and complex crafting recipes taking up many many many raw resources to eventually culminate in whatever they end with. If you were forced to mine every resource by hand, or even with create contraptions, from the world, you'd be a whole lot more limited in the shenanigans the pack can require of you before it becomes incredibly tedious. So, funnily enough, kitchen sink packs are the absolute best way to have no infinite ore generators and get everything manually, because you make the goals and the goals don't have to require several million iron ore.

In Minecraft, there's no real reason to use anything beyond stone for axes and pickaxes outside of mining ores that require higher tiers.

Yeah, I’m fine with bulk resources like stone and gravel and maybe sand being automated, but even iron seems kinda cheesy. A decent sniff test is whether you can automate it in vanilla, but that’s not a generalisable position, especially when it’s not a vanilla style pack.

Personally I love massive Buildcraft quarries, but in the context of Create they don’t fit that well. With aeronautics you can probably make a big rotary excavation machine with a slowly extending arm.
I want to make an autistic pack where iron isn’t renewable, and trees grow really slowly, and other changes that force you to tear up your environment for resource acquisition. Crops (and kelp) and animals growing slowly would also incentivise you to replace vast swathes of land with farms, but if you can’t efficiently automate the harvesting that could be a pain.

As the other anon says, this doesn’t scale well. If you could have quarries and farmland act as virtual devices when in unloaded chunks, it wouldn’t be as much of a problem. But even without that, so long as the ore collection process with a sable digging machine was in the middle ground of “takes enough time and gives enough ore to be worth setting up at a distant location” and “doesn’t take so much time without player decision making that you want to AFK or chunk-load it”, like mining with vein miner or a 5x5 hammer, I think you could make a progression-based pack with such an approach. Requiring more and more iron each tier wouldn’t be sustainable for more than a few tiers, requiring more exotic materials that require more advanced techniques to refine or obtain would be better. I’m thinking ahead to some future all-in-one Sable pack, with Deep Seas and some sort of space exploration mod.

Revisited this idea after messing around more with IE, realized if I can get and forge energy connector on IE it should work with that mods power generation without any issue, so here is Create: New Age powering the Crafts and Additions tesla coil via Immersive Engineering Coils, ergo, IE/Immersive Petroleum is back on the table (unfortunately no power grid and no electro energetics though i don't like the latter they intentionally have lightbulbs always function because "what if you have a burn out" yes that's my fucking problem then oh no i relied on electricity now i have a mob farm)

anyways

maybe it's a combo of both? C&A has a few other tools i like but New Age is better at the feel of electricity generation but also goes in a way different route than i kind of want, maybe a bit of both? leaning towards new age tho
>>
>>580565574
Electro Energetics light bulbs prevent mob spawns even when unpowered.
>>
>>580562184
You can automate iron in vanilla, and in nu-versions (which is what vanillafags play) you can automate so fucking much it's insane. I don't remember if there's some retarded way to automate diamonds, but if not then villager trading lets you trivially farm them with some player interaction, so might as well make it automatable then.

it was just the largest nuversion most mods congregated to after 1.12. ever since 1.12 they've never settled on another version to mod, they were on 1.16 for a while but eventually most moved to 1.20.1.
and then create aeronautics released on 1.21.1, so you'll see most of those "focused on 1.20.1" modders move on to 1.21.1 and disavow any work on 1.20.1 ever again pretty shortly.
>>
>>580577003

i would love it if modders would settle on a new 1.12 but that just isn't going to happen. hopefully 1.21.1 lasts a good many years at least even though some shitfucks are already trying to force 26.12 or something
>>
>>580577502
perhaps they looked over what had changed between then and now and came to the conclusion that 26.x had enough new options to function as a new baseline.

Hello anons, I haven't posted here before but a Fren of mine just coded a mod for Happy Ghasts that reworks them while remaining vanilla-friendly, so if you're interested please go check it out and give your thoughts, he would appreciate it.
Thank You :)

MOD: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/happy-ghast-rework

CHANGES:
>20 HP > 40 HP.
>0.05 movement speed > 0.08 movement speed (60% speed increase).
>Immunity to fire/lava hazards (Hostile Ghast and Blaze projectile attacks will still deal damage, but will not cause the Happy Ghast to remain on fire).
>Snowballs can now be used to heal 25% of the Happy Ghast's HP.
>When not being ridden by a player, the Happy Ghast will slowly descend and remain hovering close to the ground, allowing the Ghast to always remain within the player's reach.
