You can beat most of the bonus fights and bonus bosses with a card team well beneath 100. In general, getting alternate versions of a card will be better than boosting a new guy up to the same level in *most* cases; a single dark lord is going to be a better investment than a full stack of julia cards, but stacking several rance cards is going to be way more worthwhile than most of the other raw damage cards.

Are you expected to unequip and reequip items for limited character battles in IX? I noticed they seemed to be really hard compared to normal battles and I was looking through my characters to see why only to remember I have a +80hp item on Tilde that would completely trivialize most of these fights. Tilde needs it because her hp is pitiful for a front line fighter without Kanami's excellence but she sure doesn't need it if she's not in the fight.I'm not going to do it because that's extra work.
