i have a small theory suselle won't be end game OR they decide to be better friends first but still have crushes and it's not because the ship isn't my thing but because of character motives. to me noelle admires susie for her rebellious 'do things her own way' manner and because of their lack of interactions this has spiraled into a sort of idealised version of susie in her head which isn't uncommon when crushing on someone. like she probably thinks someone like susie could fix all her problems and inspire her to break out of the mundane cycle she says she hates so much in weird route.for susie maybe she just accepted the first offer of romantic attention she got because its new and exciting and because she didn't think much of romance in general before this she just assumes it's all going to be perfect and they will be happy forever. it takes up a decent chunk of her character in ch5 which. coincidentally. is also the chapter she falls deeper and deeper jnto her delusions that she can live in a fantasy world that she's now inviting noelle into. and if rudy is actually dying and noelle makes a dark world to save him that they obviously have to close that's going to mess with susie HARD and she's going to rethink about how sustainable making castle town her home is and so is noelle when she realises susie isn't perfect and nobody is.as a krusie fan i also have to sprinkle that in here. i think kris could definitely admire susie in the same way that noelle does with freedom of choice and rejecting fate/destiny/the prophecy etc etc comparing this to kriselle, noelle can't project anything onto kris and vice versa because they already know each other. this completely erases any form of 'performance' or guard up that they maintain with other people. a sort of comfortable mundaneness sprouts from this, which to me, is exactly what both of them need mentally.

None of them will get happy endings. Kris can't love anyone if they hate themselves. Susie will ruin her chances with Noelle if she changes what it means to be Susie. And while Noelle's love can bloom with the real Susie, at the lake, it won't be able to flourish with a Susie that's slowly shutting away from everyone and the real world, trying to change herself for others, regressing into being exactly what Noelle hates about herself.TL;DR None of your ships are canon, goodbye.
