Just played through Dawnguard for the first time after being urged by my GF for the past few days. Iโm not sure what I was expecting going into it, but man what a let down now that itโs finished. Like previous Elder Scrolls entries the vampire stuff feels half baked (theyโre not even present for a good portion of the dlc lol), most of the characters you meet in either faction hardly matter, the quest content just feels like a lot of โgo here and fetch thisโ again instead of actually dealing with the enemy, the final confrontation where you storm Castle Volkihar and fight Harkon felt anti-climatic, and not to mention all the poorly written plot points throughout the experience. Some of the areas like Forgotten Vale were beautiful and fun to explore. Serana was ok and cute enough as far as companions, but even then it felt like the writers were semi-forcing me to have any kind of connection to her. Next up is Dragonborn which I have higher hopes for since it takes place in Solstheim and has a seemingly more interesting antagonist.
