You'd do a quest at 47 then get told to show back up at 50 with the game expecting you to just farm dungeons or FATEs for it.It didn't "avoid slogs", it realized how limpwristed its playerbase became after Stormblood and that's why we got a shitload of QOL changes. Crafting was easier, cross class was gone because casuals hated grinding extra jobs and it was an incline of "this was too filtery so we removed it, yay us!"
