What's the point of this timeskip and redesigns? Is it just because 3H had it? There it served the purpose of showing your students growth and the state of the world 5 years later. The students all wearing uniforms in part one made their individuality stand out more after they'd grown. What do these redesigns say about the characters 5 years later besides getting older for the sake of it? Dietrich, for example, could have put on an ethnic getup as a story promotion without any timeskip.
