We talk a lot about in-character vs out of character here, but what about character theming? For example, I think Silver really shouldn't be involved with the story unless there's high stakes, or if Sega decides to explore his future. I think it's odd seeing him in slice of life scenarios in the present. That's just me.

He'll find a way back. Again just don't overdo it. I don't care for the ideas around making characters give up a defining characteristic for development. Shadow moving on from Maria or Amy moving on from Sonic are popular ones. If someone is sick of those then I think it's fair to bring in another character. This isn't a critique of fanon so much as the idea that these developments need to be official.I don't really know what to make of that idea with Silver. If you really think about it it's kind of weird that he can come back at all. I don't mind.
