I think we can safely assume Part 1 was developed fine for each of the lords. Once it got to part 2, things started shitting the bed and then they decided to have an avatar wrap up part 3 somehow

Allow me to write some plot holes and bad writing

Plot holes:
>Theodora is always alive in any part 2 route you pick, despite the point of Cucksmell being that he went back to save the heroes
>That means that by saving Die/Leda/Cai you also save Theodora, not only that, but she also swears she'd return to kill Lyrah/Balor yet somehow she dies offscreen and needed you to save her the same way you did the other 3 (????)
>They never explain how Dagda was brought down without Cucksmell going back in time to break his shield for Theodora/Bertrand army to kill him. You couldn't have gone back before you're created and this breaks the entire plot since you can complete the game without doing so and Dagda was somehow still killed (necessary for the world ending plot)
>Solel whole deal is that he loves Yu Phas so much he gets duped by Illiana to believe she's her sister, yet when Orchel reveals her face and power he does nothing and the story just moves as if that hadn't happened

I feel part 2 had the best potential as far as good maps go but the overabuse of giant enemies on each map really soured my opinion of it.

They wanted all the lords to team up at the end of the game, purely to contrast 3H. The problem with this is obvious, in that none of the lords really have goals in common and while their wishes aren't mutually-exclusive, there's no real cause for them to all join forces with the tournament setting. This is where Dagda and Part 2 comes in, giving everyone a (frankly boring) common foe to fight against. Now, where they decided this wasn't enough and they needed yet another common foe in the future, requiring a time-traveling Avatar? That part is a mystery. To be honest it may just be that Kusakihara likes time travel and wanted to make it more explicit, compared to how in SoV he snuck into the side materials that the game is actually about Alm and Celica using the Turnwheel to send their memories back in time over millions of loops to create a timeline where Duma's defeated - this is why the game opens with that shot of Alm killing Celica, it's a memory being sent back by another Alm.

I think what should have really happened is that Solel should have been the main villain.

Perhaps Dagda, Balor and Solel conspire to wake up Sothis and Solel backstabs them all because Sothis should never wake up from sleep because it will bring an end to Dagda and he could perhaps be a humanist while the other two believe in nabateans more. The 4 flame lords in the arena and 3 die to revive Solel, who grants the winner's wish. At first, all goes well and they achieve their goals, but it all feels hollow.

The flame lord that survives is plagued with visions of a future that never was. Solel proclaims that these visions are the visions sent by the traitors Balor and Dagda and implicates Balor's daughters are responsible. He chides them for creating the Human Cola to resurrect the traitors and sends the surviving Flame Lord to arrest the daughters who he later executes.

Lyrah survives and informs the surviving Flame Lord that Solel doesn't believe in a future for nabateans after the purge that Dagda and Balor wanted to wreak on humans and acknowledges that they weren't right, but neither was Solel.

Solel attempts to kill Sothis, awakening her final form which we fight. At the last battle, Eshmael kills Solel. Solel would have won, if he did not recognise that Eshmael was actually himself and recognises the possibility for nabatean and human coexistence and lets himself pass... As a result of Solel's attempts Sothis has to sleep to recover, which causes Sothis to turn into a loli form. Lyrah remarks that perhaps this was the outcome that Solel had wanted all along, after a fashion. Fabio remarks that if not for people such as Solel, the Agarthans might not have triumphed. Fortuna remarks that Eshmael will not be needing her powers any time soon. As they leave, they pass a tapestry of Yu Phas as dead yu phas, alive orchel lifts her mask to greet Eshmael who has reincarnated just as she has.

You make their growths, base class, maybe 1 class change option, and have S ranks with both genders that are not platonic, but are not used in advertising (so its actually a nice surprise) and they dont matter to the plot at all and arent even in cutscenes outside paralogues or their S rank ending.
