You guys really need someone dedicated to the video stream/recording. It's been really poor. Many of the performances are video-only and yet instead of simply showing the fullscreen video, we have the camera on the stage for periods, with the video screen cropped at the top of the frame, or randomly panning around the audience. The first minute of this stage performance is just a crowd shot. Or a black screen for minutes at a time early on (you could see the disco light occasionally so it IS a camera shot).

Meanwhile, on FPSloppa front, I properly smoked something funny and got idea. A distributed megarena. Already works and passed real test on 16 super hobo VPS instances.You get separate workers, each keeping track of simulation in its own arena. Arenas have gates that allow passing from one to another, each living on its own server instance with its own worker. All kept in sync by master server that relays game progression between workers.When you cross gate you drop out of current instance simulation pool and receive sync payload from instance you're connecting to. Since you're still in the same game on the same master the payload is relatively small and optimised so transition time can be as short as 30ms. To keep performance in check and not choke the worker each has 16 players limit and there's safeguards to prevent extras slipping in. So by just abusing some adjusted domination/conquest rules, you can have 64 players in single game fighting for the same objective on what seems like same map, just with MMO style zones. Best part is that it's scalable and modular with the current server design so you can connect more parts of the map or disconnect them as needed to have virtually unlimited arena shooter with anything between 4 and 1024 clients connected. Best part is that the workers themselves are so cheap that you only need one beefy master server and shittiest 3 dollar a month VPS can serve 2-3 workers without problems. With each worker being able to manage 16 players at once, 10 bitch basic VPS can easily do 128 players.We literally have Planetside/Tribes/Joint Ops/Forefront at home. Once it's stable I'll spin up 20 VPS and keep Planetside-style game built on FPSlop base running for month.
