The biggest flaw in 2nd is still the combat arts UI. No categorization. You can press a button to only see support or attack spells, but it's a giant list you have to manually cycle through to find what you're looking for. It was already perfect in previous games. They should also add QoL that puts elements your target is weak to at the top in order of effectiveness. No more scrolling for 10 seconds just to find a fire art.

I don't think Earth Guard is enough to fully tank it. You can also just stun him at the right damage threshold before the S-break so he doesn't get to go. If you feel the S-break is coming and you just stunned him, use Schera's Heaven's Kiss to keep the turns going.

Basically, if you feel like you're sufficiently giving the boss the same treatment Renne got before joining Ouroboros, then defend yourself with Earth Wall or Grail Sphere if you know the boss is gonna have their turn soon.Rage boost is legitimately a really boring mechanic because it makes everything predictable. Thankfully, Anti-sept cancels it, and multiple characters have a craft that removes enemy buffs.
I honestly think I preferred every boss just coming pre-packaged with deathblow on all their attacks.

The generic Rock texture Falcom used was a huge pain in the ass though. They lazily use 1 single small 2k rock texture for the entire fucking game and scale it for various rocks. That's why the overworld textures look like shit. I took a Kai rock texture and asked ChatGPT to add tons of more detail to it (cracks, pores and shit) then I used an texture AI upscaler to upscale the texture to 8k. In the end each single rock face is still the equivalent of a normal 2k texture because Falcom blew it up on the entire fucking map those lazy fucks. Yeah, still looks dated as fuck, but I think it's not total shit anymore. Trees still look like N64 rejects.

Falcom really doesn't like the idea of you putting up an earth wall on your party because some of the later bosses just do AoE All Cancels. It's really funny how this ends up making me just spam S-crafts with Agate and Zin to brute force the fights on Nightmare since the CP gain is tremendously increased in this version of the game.

Well Carna has been the toughest boss yet for me, playing on Nightmare, but fighting Jaeger-Kurt I took down him down by using Estelle and Anelace’s awakening at the same time, using the triangle attack twice, and then using their S-Crafts. Because letting bosses use full rage means a game over.
