Time for me SETTLE the dust.Monster Hunter Base World is ultimately fine, it's kind of tiny and introduced a lot of new issues like slow walk segments but can be brushed off as more or less growing pains, 5th gen was a big leap as a whole and it can be seen as Monster Hunter wanting to start over completely fresh, you can see this with how they changed how elders work but I think world mechanics feel a bit bloated with baby blankies, slingers, slinger ammo, enviorment hazzards that seem to help the hunter 90% of the time. But at least you can ignore these things and just hit monster so it's not all bad. Iceborn gave us CC and ruined the base game it acts as a solution to problem they created to jusitfy CC existence, you can try and ignore it but it draws out the hunt as monsters now feel spongey and enrage slower making the combat pace feel like ass, not helped by you CC on the monster's head and getting locked to the tail because fuck you, or the monster kicking you off constantly with zero logic to how it works, as one monster's breath attack will throw you off the head and the other won't because, and the worst part is the fucking clagger sending a monster 800 light years away so the player can CC them as band aid fix to this horribly implimented gimmick, straight up a horrid gimmick and the person who suggested needs his pay cut in half. Despite being a G rank Expansion Monsters are very easy, Nargacuga is the best/worst example, it's fight is complete ass, meanwhile Barioth fights more like Nargacuga and actually tries to preasure the player.I'm going back to bed now.
