The CGs are top tier, the gameplay is very solid, the cast of characters is very interesting and fun, the GMS is an excellent playground, the Brand Manager and schizo posting shit honestly beat out most of the "hype and aura" of canto 9, the general aesthetic sense is fucking cool, the charge units have been so far very neat, the aesthetics even on the menus have been solid, it's just been seriously a never* below 8/10 experience for me. I have never liked a Canto more just on the sheer merits of the vast majority of its execution.The few exceptions are things like the fate lost shit. I beat the bird cage manager before it was time for fun and without the bleed buffs and more as a tough fight to do like Part 1 and got hit with the gay lockdown, that was not good. Blackthread was kind of bullshit, not going to lie, that fight sorta sucked. It also wasn't super obvious you were meant to really fight it in the Symbolic but its eh.Besides that though, yeah solid 8/10.

I think the problem with this canto is that despite its size and new features, it feels very intervallo coded. A contained cast of characters, with little to nothing to do with the "bigger picture" as it were. And most of them aren't intimately involved with Meursault. Jeanne is just a voice for now and still hasn't physically showed up. Maman is basically a memory.
