Mage actually had a severe problem in regards to finishing off an opponent. Rogue was nearly completely useless and couldn’t ever take a 1v1. Also, cast bars aren’t ever different. Every spell is the same cast bar, and it really cuts into the way the class feels on a video gamey RPG level. Theyre also actually way harder because you can fuck up pulls and there’s actually just no escape, you don’t have much time. Youre also trading your health bar with every fight, that’s literally keeping you alive. So if you ever start gambling with RNG like you will definitely die in hardcore. Overall warlock is still fun enough to play, I did it in tbc because you had to play the top dps class if you wanted to be the top dps raider. But, it’s probably my least favorite class overall. It’s just way easier in general like you even frequently get a second or two in your rotation to think about what’s happening and what’s going to happen 5 turns from now, melee doesn’t really get that and also has to keep track of global cd more often so they don’t overqueue. Not that I enjoy that aspect of it but it’s definitely noticeably easier to do a caster dps rotation.

Kel'thuzad, the capital N Necromancer, was a mage before he became a necromancer. The only natural way to add necromancer is have it as a fourth mage spec you unlock from a long quest chain at level 60, with spells you need to go and find in lost vaults under Dalaran or in Scourge ziggurats.
