Me personally I'd be alright even just reading officially published short stories or more text-heavy segments, but that isn't exactly how Hoyo does things and I don't think it'd really work in their main campaigns. These games often treat characters as more set-dressing that isn't really brought up once you move on to the next place. The Proxy is the unifying element, because as the MC, you're just sort of just good enough at making friends you can get the ball going on fostering cooperation and compromise. And then, I'd still include elements of when there can't be any with some added drama, delaying the eventual reconciliation.Lockspring should've been introduced as early as 2.0, and the build up to confronting him could've been a call back to all the times he seemed to be the only one who didn't ''get it'' at all, and never would. There's some hint of it, with how he recounts plot beats throughout the whole season, and I guess the implication was that when he was just walking around during 2.5 unsupervised, he was getting a QRD on it. I would've just had him be there as a foil to Eous from the start.

I like Miyabi, as the stuff with her after the main story adds some more context as to why she does warm to the Proxy, and there could've been a bit further exploration of what I touched upon with the whole overarching investigation into the truth of the fall of Eridu. 1.4 has a lot of what I like, too, where even if it's brief and contained to the patch, people still cite how cool the moment was where the Cunning Hares are ready to defend themselves against HSO6. I liked the factions coming together, as they each had serviceable chapters of their own beforehand, so there's at least an idea of how these people can come together. That same moment in season 2 feels a little stilted when for example, it was one of the two times we've even seen Spook Shack all in the same place, the second being in Yidhari's event. When the Sons of Calydon and Victoria Housekeeping show up, you've seen plenty of how their bond actually manifests.I don't have Zhu Yuan, but I hope to lose a 50/50 to her sometime so I can do her trust events, because I thought it was cool how she actually called the Proxy out. Which kind of also shows why we don't get more conflict, since to Hoyo people arguing whether or not she was right or justified probably just means division between fans, and well, less sales(hence why they don't sell her anymore).

I like Miyabi, but a lot of her character development got moved onto Tailless and hasn't really moved since, and she kind of unfairly gets a pass for some things other characters don't.I think I can condense a lot of yap into saying I like some of the potential the setting has, but that's really what it mostly boils down to, a ''potential'' story. She pops her ult, puts on the mask, and then she gets a big magical black cape (again, like Count Dracula) that temporarily changes her moveset, and then if she pops her ult again before her temporary vampire meter runs out, she gets to unleash a big bang attack (like YSG's ult) with a red sky and full moon in the background for max kino potential.Instead, what do we actually get with regards to her vampire motif? Just some yurifaggotry where she uses her blood to help Roxy overcome her occasional bouts of anemia. They completely fucked up with Claret in so many ways. I would have begrudgingly tolerated the last-second rugpull yurifaggotry if only her moveset was actually fun and interesting. It seems like the only reason they even chose a vampire design motif for her was as a way to sneak in that yurifaggotry blood bond garbage. They had no other ideas on how to actually apply that motif in a way that mattered (her gameplay).
