Project: Playtime was mostly cancelled because it's code sucked, and I suspect the lore no longer fit the current direction of the series. The core concept of the game just doesn't make much sense, and I think they're teasing Leith was in the factory during the HoJ, so he couldn't have led the specialists during Project.

I just finished the playtestThis game is pure ass>Atmosphere is terrible, lighting is a combination of 3 and 5 which looks awful, OST is completely forgettable>Repetitive gameplay loop, you look for trash while occasionally getting harassed by braindead enemies>Every map is the fucking same, there are maybe 8 unique rooms that get stitched together in a few different shapes>Reused assets out this game's ass, makes the whole thing look like a Roblox game>The original animations are >>583022019

They didn't have enough people to work on two games back then, but Project Playtime could have been revived after hiring more people. Escape from Playtime is so unnecessary. They could have profited from the Smiling Critters by adding Catnap as a playable monster.
