I was very concerned that part 2 would just be a boring 'Rouge route' after part 1 was kinda mid, but I found myself enjoying it more than I thought I would, and I liked Pwie a lot.Then I was worried how they'd wrap it all up in part 3, especially because 1 and 2 had so much Carmen schizobabble my eyes glazed over. Really felt like Carmen overload, despite her obviously knowing she was going to have a hand in Meursault's canto ages ago. But somehow I thought they did the Maman scenes really well, and I even didn't mind the Carmen stuff. The whole encounter with Jeanne didn't feel as rushed as I thought it would, probably because the whole fight was a really good spectacle with a lot of characterization in it. Meursault's growth felt subdued but natural, given the context of what happened with Maman and his history with Jeanne.It's a bit of another case of 'part 3 backload', but not as bad as Ryoshu or Don's case; I think part 2 set up Meursault's subtle growth pretty well. I think complaints about there not being enough of an epilogue are valid, but I also don't mind having more detailed follow-up having an entire intervallo to itself. I don't think there was any need to prolong any of that, former because it would be padding that contributes nothing to Meur's story and latter because we are presented with a hook that will be expanded later.
