Add the mandatory D Delta queen of PvP and the optional G Nella and there’s too much competition for variant teams. Even if Lambda becomes PvP meta later she already suffered during her own banner which I’m not even sure has ever happened without a buff fix for premium. Right now people can use Lambda in PvP not because she’s meta but because Saeran and Delta carry everyone.

On the flip side when rng fails it just infuriates players.The worst of all is that the recent singularity mode as well as the world boss mode offers fights up to 40 turns and depending on your setup lasts far more than that. Having rng cuck you at any time basically turns 10+ min runs into a waste of time that goes contrary to the idea of quick routine incremental chores/rewards.Tl;dr this game has so many rng elements you can’t even reliably reproduce run results unless your team setup and the boss happens to be very low on rng and also fully supported by proper gear allowing you to manipulate speed down to the very last digit. Otherwise it’s a system non krakens have no business getting into and is a huge reason why casuals fall off and quit the game. The effort->reward ratio sucks before hitting whale tier.

They come from an era growing up where they happily spent hours upon hours just to master a boss fight or clearing a puzzle stage with nothing but the reward of clompletion gives. Compare that to today’s gacha meta where even failing gives you pity drops to encourage you to keep trying and you’ll see the devs aren’t clever jews at all, quite the opposite. They basically built Outerplane with the mindset of a 1980-2005 gamer mindset.
