Honestly pretty conflicted on the canto. I don't think it's too fair to judge canto 1 and 2 for example since they obviously are kind of half-baked compared to the later canto since they were so early in development. The gameplay in this canto was really just abysmal to me, and while I can respect that El Director is always trying to do something new, I really didnt like it and it dragged down the entire experience for me.Even the fights were really hit and miss. You can win rate all of part 1, win rate most of part 2, and then part 3 just has bosses with major problems back to back. Chaplain fight isn't too bad, but it really fucking drags (i know that was the point but still) and while the whole punish you for reading thing was funny, it's kind of counterintuitive to the entire makeup of the game.The Pwie fight is just really fucking annoying and like the Chaplain fight has an issue in the actual text that need to be fixed. Seen multiple complaints that the skill where Pwie halves the HP of the adds and buffs them can be at speed level 1, yet still go off first with no indication in the text that it will happen. Meaning you have to overkill the adds with the attacks you select since the numbers you're seeing are going to be a lot weaker than the actual numbers you'll be on the receiving end of.

I'm picking up what it's putting down, it's just not very meaningful to me.I kind of expected the final boss to instead be the grand sisyphe conjuring up the form of Meursault's distorted mother and him having to relive the entire ordeal then and there. As it is the fight is between meursault and jeanne, but the most impactful part of it is a flashback of Meursualt's mother. I think the mechanic of the fight becoming a dance between Meursault and Jeanne is cool, but it ends up being a very simple fight where all Meursault does is clash with Jeanne while everyone else fights some boring ass mannequins.Idk, just my two cents. There are parts of the canto I've liked and newish lore about Carmen and Ayin has been cool, but it just kind of drags down every time I start to enjoy it. Curious what the general consensus will be.
