The tree in the backyard is Sunny's favorite tree. On the morning she died, it should have only been Sunny there. If Mari really commits suicide by hanging herself on the day of the recital under similar conditions to Omori, it sets up her twelve year old little brother, who she knows the kind of clingy kid he is and what she means to him, to be the first one to find her. I kind of like this angle, admittedly. It would say something about Mari.

OMORI fans are terrible writers; they seem oblivious to just how fucking detestable their interpretations of the characters they love so much actually are.If you point out that Character X acted like a total jerk—or that you want to kill them off in their shitty fic—they just reply with "Oh, you just hate X" or "It's fine because they're going to have a redemption arc and blah blah blah." And the redemption arc always ends up being nothing more than realizing what they did was wrong and apologizing, or putting in the bare minimum effort without actually acting like someone who feels genuine guilt.
