Bernie inspires me every day to try new things and to be creative. On that note, I finished my second mod for Darkest Dungeon and I'm very happy with how it turned out. Bernie is featured rather prominently in the trailer, so I might as well share it. Bernie can't hit the enemies in the very front without using Vengeance and shuffling forward, while Miranda is a frontliner that can't reach any of the enemies in the back. The two cover each other's weaknesses well and can set up marks that each can take advantage of for big damage. I put a little easter egg in if you make a team with both of them on it. It's fun to do crossovers and think about teambuilding with Bernie outside of the FE-context. I think the two of them would be friends, if only in the same way that Bernie is friends with the Death Knight: other people tend not to go near them when they hang out. She's definitely into staying home, but the idea of strange people knocking at her door dressed in scary costumes and demanding candy is kind of a nightmare for her. Though i'll likely finish it today since i kind of broke the progression in that game and everything in the main quest is a joke now. Who knew that spending 40 hours in the first chapter exterminating everything that moved on the world map and beating up every NPC for the sweet exp, thus almost reaching what i assume is the level cap and somehow acquiring BiS weapon and armor would mess with the progression. By comparison, i'm at the end of chapter 4 now and getting there took less than 4 hours (including some side quests). I did find it funny how, by doing things this way the game just literally skipped chapter 2, it just threw me straight into chapter 3 after i spoke to an NPC because i've apparently already done everything that he was going to make me do. I do appreciate games that don't try and stop the player from just going full murderhobo and solving everything that way, Underrail was also great for this.

Finally finished Drova. It's a pretty good game all things considered. The worst parts about it are the story which is kind of whatever, as well as the character writing which ranges from okay to something that seems like it was written by a 13 y/o. The combat was alright though and the OST is really good. This game also loves its references; Apart from referencing Gothic (like, a lot), there were references to random shit like Dark Souls or even Skyrim. Hell, one side quest is entirely just a Bloodborne reference. Either way, it certainly scratches the Gothic itch. Reread Marvel Zombies for Halloween. Even though I'm tired of both zombies and capes, it was still a fun read because it's unique. The super zombies here use their smarts from their hero life to catch people, even defeat Galactus without the ultimate nullifier just cause they want to eat him, and supes like Spidey struggle with accepting the monsters they've become. The final boss of the Blood and Wine DLC is genuinely pretty kickass. I'd probably give it a 6/10.

Finished my 2nd playthrough of Drova. Honestly picking the other story choices didn't really change much so it wasn't really worth it for that. I did however run into an optional encounter that i've missed on my first go and that was probably the most fun fight in the game, so it was worth it for that. Fast enough to double almost everything and tanky enough to take no damage from a bunch of enemies. Her boosts to throwing spears extend her range further and allow her to counter 1~2 ranged enemies. Really fun unit. I switched Io over to Charioteer and wow, that class is busted. I thought the Charge skill might take a turn to set up like in enemy phase, but no, you get to charge whenever you want. The map design is far more friendly towards foot combat, the visuals are gorgeous and the characters are wildly varied. Another touch I appreciate is that weapons DON'T degrade with normal attack, just combat arts. It's so much more balanced and I can actually try to test out certain weapons. Combat arts also feel more useful, though I'm still in the beginning. Great stuff.

The Dawnguard DLC in Skyrim is funny to me. If you side with the vampires, half the time you’re running errands for them they send you to kill other vampires. It’s like “Hey, wanna side with the vampires and wage war against the vampire hunters? Great, now go hunt other vampires”. I do like Volikhar Castle though, it’s like a lil family of edgelords

Rhea's concern is maintaining her own power over Fodlan and pursuing the revival of her dead mother (through experimenting on children herself and turning them into monsters), not rooting out and destroying the Agarthans. Rhea banned telescopes and the printing press as part of her censorship regime that keeps the spread of knowledge centrally controlled by the Church. This is necessary, of course, because the faith of Seiros is entirely based on lies. The printing press would allow copies of forbidden texts to be mass produced and widely distributed, undermining not only the Church's position, but the entire social system that they had created. The study of the stars could lead to the discovery of the Fell Star's origin, again undermining the founding myth of Seirosite faith. In any case, the Slithers don't need basic human telescopes. They still have nuclear weapons and laser guns despite anything the Church bans for common folk.

Used Theo, Tobias, Goliath and Ninae as the shields, all had amazing defense. Ninae in particular shone with both high defense and res, neither physical nor mages could harm her that much. This when you get the Seteth line: "We must kill her--kill Rhea!"
