Overall you don’t need really even need to be a fan of it or be familiar with it, it’s an original story and plot and the game seems to do a pretty good job of explaining what’s going on.

I'm at the sewers in RE2 remake, how much longer do I have until the lab? Doing Leon A but I like Ada a lot more here than in the original. Although in general I like remake less than the original (it's definitely more of a different game/feel though and I think the more actiony re2 resonated more with me than let's make RE2 feel like RE1R). Going back to Ada though, holy shit in the original game she was straight retarded and dumb lol. Ben I like more in the original for obvious reasons. Leon I'm a bit mixed about, it makes sense he's more timid and doesn't quite have his shit together but I think Leon's whole "Why doesn't anyone listen to me?" gimmick in the original was great comic relief for the levity. Looking up discussion online though, I think people are being retarded in saying "Ada was manipulating Leon" in the original. I think it felt pretty obvious she was falling for the guy and just survived outta sheer luck rather than "this was all part of my keikaku" (keikaku means plan). Different in the remake but in the original felt like she really wanted to start anew and that was the original plan. Why do most people usually take future game canon or remakes to discuss older games? I see it a shit ton of times like when people talk about Dragon Ball with Super material when we're strictly just talking about Dragon Ball.

You need to do the chess puzzle (annoying) and then you have a boss fight. The worst part is dropping down to get the King/Queen pieces since they are guarded by 3 G-Monsters on the way in and I think 2 on the way back (but you can dodge of of the ones on the way back by climbing up to land then dropping back down).

If you place yourself right against the wall to the left of the shutter (I'm drawing this from memory have haven't touched RE2R in like a year) he won't hit you, then when he tears through the shutter you can just run forward and he won't hit you. It will save you some health resources The boss fight is actually pretty cool just make sure you've got some stun grenades.

The game really did remove the biggest burden from RE4 by getting rid of almost all the QTEs, but at the same time, the bosses are worse. On the plus side, the level design is surprisingly better. RE4’s stages were cramped boxes, while RE5’s stages are these sprawling areas with tons of spots, allowing for all kinds of playstyles. It sucks that just when they finally got the hang of it in Revelations 2, they rebooted the series. I really wanted more RE4/5-style games.

Levels are short, and the ability to restart from checkpoints really allows for faster replays. So far, I’m going to do a deathless run, and then I’m going to drop the game.

Just cleared the demo area of Revival. Pretty fun game. Everything flows together well. Only things I can say that have really annoyed me so far are the silly fall damage and that one shotgun bastard that felt a bit ridiculous to go against early on. Came across a minor glitch where ammo stayed on the map even after I got it but pretty negligible. Have to say the game is surprisingly challenging. Melee weapons breaking for good once their durability is depleted is not something I was expecting, and adds another level of tension, I just hope it doesn’t get too ridiculous later. I like that there are times where you have to use your better judgement and just run away too since you aren’t always able to mow things down. Hope it keeps up.

I'm playing the original Dead Rising 1 for the first time. I am having fun, but man I'm struggling. I had a couple questions if anyone could help a noob out:1. Are you really expected to take survivors to that same Security room location on the east side of the mall every time? I really liked Townfall, but after playing through the Richard part I'm struggling to finish the game because of how much more fun I was having. I didn't realize how exhausting the stealth was until I was given a chance to really let loose. I already got spoiled that the ending is based on enemies killed and times revived and I don't think I have it in me for a second playthrough where I need to be even more stealthy than I already am.

Kills don't count as Richard or Zoe so as Zoe you can just slaughter everything with the Axe and as Simon, they give up chasing you VERY quickly so its a much less stressful run if you go on Story NG+, and they just patched The Weight's AI so he's not nearly as annoying and you can sprint through those sections as well.
