Blizzard shills don't wan to admit it, but Blizzard uses DEI when it comes to class balancing now. Warriors and mages were too good in vanilla? Well they must be nerfed to make up for being good in the past. It doesn't matter if you never played vanilla, mages being nerfed is important for progress and you must suffer for the old players playing an overpowered class (much like racism/slavery of the past). Furthermore, you must buff all the hybrid classes by turning the hybrid tax into a hybrid strength. All the hybrids must have all the utility in healing, resurrecting, and tanking. A druid must be as good as a priest, rogue, or warrior at any given role. This is DEI class balance. Hybrid classes are made better to make up for the past in the game's history where they were treated as secondary classes. You see, the druids underwent so much emotional abuse being token raiders brought for their buffs. It's about paying reparations for vanilla druids. That's why they now have a rez without a cooldown.

the only issue with gw2's zones is that their boundaries are obviously rectangular once fully explored. Being able to swim for 10 minutes around a mountain instead of taking the road in WoW is a neat novelty but not at all necessary for creating an open world. In vanilla I can only think of Durotar-Barrens and Elwynn-Westfall/Redridge/Duskwood as the zones that don't have a border checkpoint.

The essence of seasonslop is "get to the end and then start over," which is what Legacy is, the only actually new thing in Forever.
Activision Blizzard forces seasonslop into every single one of their games, it helps them pad out the content and keep it relevant forever, and the point of Forever is to pad out content and keep it relevant forever, so it's naive to think it won't be seasonslop.
Extra food for thought: It is insane to me that people are discounting Forever on Skyborne alone.
