I finally tested inns.I put 120 turns into auto-activities for Leda Chapter 5. Half went into Combat and half into Training, with units ranging from level 7-11. Sirocco only went from level 11 to level 12 and the rest who were lagging behind also went to level 11-12. The units who did Training didn't even gain a full rank in any skill.So in other words, auto-activities are scaled with game progress (ideal level). This means there is never any reason to dump all your turns into at once to game the system, but on the other hand, it is clearly designed to catch you up to the ideal level quickly.The arena works the same way. I notice the further you get into game, the more skill exp a training session gives. Characters will go from E to D+ in one go. Whereas right now it's taking two sessions to get to D.Another curious detail is the amount of class exp you get. It seems like you can get a neutral amount and a "good" or "perfect" amount like with other features in the game. With 12 initial turns fed in, 6 out of 7 units got 1 class exp per 1 turn (12), but Buccar got 2 exp per 1 turn (24) seemingly randomly. So if you're trying to master a bunch of fresh classes, it may be best to advance in increments of 15 for beginner classes and 30 for specialty classes, in case you get a bonus with a couple units.tl;dr The takeaway is to use inns and arena for all they are worth and no more, because they're designed to catch you up and then to stop being useful once you are caught up.
