Maybe this is just me, but some models are getting way too carried away with huge replies I’ll write a few lines and get back six paragraphs of internal thoughts, scenery, body language, dialogue, and half the next scene already decided for me. I like detailed writing, but at some point it stops feeling like roleplay and starts feeling like I’m just reading a novel the AI wrote by itself. I want enough detail to give me something to work with, but still enough space to actually play my character. Anyone else prefer shorter replies for this reason?

A fresh chat gives it nothing to copy except the card and the preset, so you get its default voice, and that's where the slop lives.Easiest fix is hand-editing the first 3 or 4 bot replies into the style you want. Once there's a pattern in context it mostly follows it. A greeting written the way you want the whole thing to sound helps more than people expect too.I'd skip a big banned-phrases list though.
