I keep seeing people say that so-called chores are the future of Fire Emblem, but I really don't think it's that set in stone.Of course, we're never getting a map to map game ever again, but I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to have an Engage situation where the game technically does have a lot of activities, but those activities don't impact important gameplay elements like recruitments and weapon levels, meaning they don't feel like chores but actual skippable, optional content. I'm aware Engage didn't sell that well, but that was because its presentation were terrible. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to have a game with a good presentation like 3H and FW and lighter downtime activities like Engage.
